The Smiths & Morrissey thread

I'm not sure how his health is, but he's not getting any younger and his touring schedule always seems too much. He should just set out a more realistic schedule.
Went to see "Sparks" at the Apollo, last night.
Ron & Russ Mael are 79 & 76 and put on a vibrant and excellent gig.
How old is Morrissey ?
Surely, he doesn't move around as Russ Mael, who must be over 10 years older ?
The bloke is a charlatan, with nowhere near as much charisma as Tim Burgess...

Hard to know if he's a bit fragile, sick or just a lazy ****, but whatever it is he clearly needs to adopt a lighter schedule.

Last time I saw Sparks it was the 20 album thing, Jimmy Somerville came on stage for #1 song in heaven and we signed Jo the day after.

With Morrissey the problem is he can get lock jaw if he sings too much.

I think both are best remembered 20+ years ago, rather than the marginal utility of going again every few years.

Worst are the rebellious punk lot cashing in, a 70 year old blond singing Eyes Without a Face...

It's a swindle!

If Morrissey and the Smiths were communists.

And of course as all Smiths eggheads know…..
Easterhouse guitarist Ivor Perry joined The Smiths in the wake of Johnny Marr’s departure and lasted 2 days.
During the sessions over the 2 days the band worked on 2 songs, one unknown and the other an early working of Bengali In Platforms that was nothing like how that song sounded when it appeared on Viva Hate

I saw the Smiths three times and it was bloody Raymonde supporting every time. I wish it had been Easterhouse.

I've still got this 12". Good song, but I think they got a bit boring without the wit and melodies of the Smiths. There were a bit too many left wing militant "intelligent" indie bands in the mid 80s.

Thats an absolute con. You can get exactly the same trainers, without the Mike Joyce signature thing for £200 less.
