Morgan Gibbs-White

I’ve said previously which players have been poor MGW would have been another to add to that list
Don’t think he would have been, but we aren’t buying him and probably haven’t been in for him or any midfielder since we bought Reijnders and Cherki.

For £60m we should have been all over him. People did watch our midfield last season? If Pep consistently goes with the likes of Gundo and Bernie again this season, it will be more of the same. MGW, would have instantly given us the legs and progressive thinking in the middle that was so lacking last season. Missed opportunity this.

Why do you think we bought Reijnders? Or Cherki for that matter.

No pressure on him at spurs to perform as they are Spursey. He can happily take his huge wage rise and slide into lazy English player mode there.

I don't think he'd have tolerated Pep making him work his arse off to earn his wage here.

Don’t think his work rate will ever be in question. He’ll be very good for them he’s a good player. Just, in my opinion, not as good as Reijnders and possibly not as good as O’Reilly can potentially become. As much as I’d have had him at the end of May, think we are better with what we did do.

If they don’t hit the ground running, they will be shown the same love from Pep as Nunes, Philips and Nico and it will be back to Bernie and Gundo every week by November. I think having seen MGW in the PL, he would have been a solid and safe option and at £60m, decent business.

Well it won’t because Gundogan won’t be here. Next season our midfield will be 3 from Rodri, Gonzalez, Reijnders, Bernardo, O’Reilly, Foden, Cherki. Looking forward to it.

It’s asking a lot for Rodri to come back the same player he was, certainly in the 1st half of the season.

Who knows which Foden turns up this year.

Bernardo has been turd for 2 years, I am expecting nothing from him.

Reijnders and Cherki are hugely exciting but who knows how quickly they can adapt to the PL. if it doesn’t happen almost instantly (big ask), that’s a gaping hole in our midfield and plans for the season.

O’Reilly will be lucky to see any significant game time in the midfield. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t get a single minute in there.

Nico seemingly needs to win Pep over already.

I honestly think that midfield is something that could go either way. On paper it looks great but so did last years midfield before a ball was kicked.

Fair enough don’t agree, but if we’d bought MGW instead of Reijnders the same argument would apply.
