Looks good to me if we don’t want to pay for Tino? I do think a top RB though gives us more chance if at least competing with them scouse bin dipping twats
You are obsessed with the dippers- oh and making a daily line-up ;-)

I read an article by a Spanish journalist a while back who loves Pep. But he made a good point, he said a few tactics last season when Pep changed were similar to Fabregas at Como. Also noted that Pep loves to watch other managers and take inspiration.

A few managers according to his article have been interested by Fabregas tactics. Fabregas plays a flat back four with a right back and left back that don’t invert but play wide but make off the ball runs behind the oppositions defence , also instead the winger and striker invert.

That leaves the full back to run into space into the opposition box causing an overload.
Similar to Nunes and ait nouri against Juventus. You also don’t need specialists to achieve this. That’s apparently why Como can do it with the players they have. Simple movement but causes constant problems.

If you look at club World Cup Sav and Haaland did drop into midfield a bit. Sav even inverting for the full back to go wide. Nunes ended up multiple times in Juves box, causing constant problems.

Livramento is perfect for this tactic and might be why he’s number one choice.

According to an Italian Como paper as well City are looking at what Fabregas does this year intently.
Look at the start of the centurions season with Mendy and Walker. When Mendy was injured, we changed to provide width from wingers and we've never had two attacking fullbacks since.

Either Alt-Nouri is there to provide the width Walker style and the right back becomes more of the three, or we want width from both fullbacks, in which case Nunes could do it or we need to find a right back who can bomb on. Think we need pace in the middle of defence whichever, but will be interesting to see how we play this season.

We've constantly evolved and I'm sure Pep knows as well as we do that teams have worked out how to both nullify our threat and expose our weakness and he's now got the chance to bring in the players to fix it. I'm hoping for another 17/18 season, although hopefully beating the rags at home this time.

Fair enough- I don't think they are ahead of us Blue.

I think Wirtz is the game changer to be honest mate unfortunately. Over the years we`ve had peak KDB? Cherki has shown moments already but he`s not anywhere near KDB level yet understandably

As 3 I don't think their midfield is much better than Rodri, Reijnders, and Foden/Cherki interchanging.Remains to be seen but it has the potential to be better. As does our front 3.I'm looking forward to seeing it.

If defensively we are more stable then we have a chance mate but alot depends on that RB signing and how Rodri is imo. I hope so though!

We didnt need to sell Alvarez but then a bid came in that was just too good to turn down? Newcastle under the current rules will take at least 10 years to grow to anywhere close the turnover we are doing which is one of their biggest problems? £80m for a full back gets accepted without question imo Jim.
Different situation that though. Alvarez wasn't a first team player and wanted out for first team football. Livramento is a key player for them, so is Isak. What message does it send out if they are selling their key players to clubs they are challenging with? I'm really not sure Newcastle will even accept 80m, not unless the player puts in a transfer request or goes full Gyokeres.

;-) Well because i think they are ahead of us currently and its interesting to look at possible line ups and options?
Do you not think the players Liverpool could lose would weaken their squad. I remember looking at it last season and they could bring on Jota, Elliot, Gakpo/Diaz, Nunez who can come off the bench and get a goal. If they sell Elliot and Nunez, obviously with no Jota there their squad will look weaker.

They've already let Quansah go, so any big injury to Konate or VVD and they are looking at Joe Gomez to come in and replace them. They have a season like ours where VVD and Konate are injured then it's Endo and Gomez at CB. Suddenly that squad looks threadbare. By buying Wirtz for the money they have, they might have to sacrifice very good squad players and this is ultimately what wins you titles. We could get Kompany and Stones injured a few seasons ago and bring in Laporte and Otamendi so we could sustain a similar level. In the treble winning season we could get injuries to both Dias and Stones and replace them with Ake and Akanji (who were on the top of their games). Liverpool don't have those options at the moment. Our squad is much deeper, it's just that Liverpool were very lucky not to get injuries to key players last season. Us and Arsenal were decimated all season round.

They’ve got a right and left back and it gives us choices what happens if Nouri gets injured

Livramento is a talented player that has great potential. He's nowhere near on par with what losing Isak would do to them. They lose Livramento and they'll live. They lose Isak and they'll not get top 4.

Possibly, but young full backs like Livramento are hard to replace. Isak, impossible in the current market. But they don't want to lose either I'm sure.

Nope he was one of our players who played the most! What he wasn’t happy with not being the main guy and why he wanted out
