IMO, Pep deserves a more generous treatment from our own fans, especially in periods of many injuries (quite natural after a period of unseen dominance in English football) and personal problems.

So why is it impossible for us to be that way? Sometimes? Especially when we are down on players that we need to play our regular football. I just thought at points last season, especially during the injury crisis, we could have been more pragmatic and defensively solid by changing our approach at times. People were saying the same about PSG in January when they were close to not making the knockouts and finished just 2 points better than us, in the CL group stage. We have got professionals running the club but since the treble we have let it slide like Utd did and now instead of strengthening every season we have now got a rebuild on our hands which will take a couple of seasons and unless pep is gonna sign another contract then he won’t be seeing this rebuild through to the end which means if another manager comes in then he will want to change things . We have made abit of a mess tbh but I have faith in our top brass tk get us out of it .Love Pep. Our GOAT manager absolutely. Will never have that period of dominance again for certain. HOWEVER that era is now over with a huge rebuild needed in all departments of club. The time should have been after 4 in a row. Txiki retiring players getting old won everything theres nothing left for pep to do here. Feel like hes just staying on for sake of it. Another manager won’t be recruited that wants to change things, the next manager will only get the job if he understands the players we have are the players he gets. Thats the whole point of a DOF. To say it’s not pep’s fault he had no full back options is a little misleading as he didn’t buy any. Had we had proper full back options we might have well gained a lot more points in the 1st half of the season. Just because he was forced into playing midfielders there doesn’t make him a genius. Just because I use a strimmer to cut my grass doesn’t make me Alan titmarch, it just means I was to tight to buy a fukin lawn mower that’s is gonna do a better, more effective and efficient job.Pep's quality helped us. It’s really simple, it really is.Gvardiol could have played at LB if we had fit CBs. And Akanji could have played at RB. Actually, Akanji and Ake could have played at LB too. Akanji played there against Real in 22/23.
The problem was that several CBs were injured at once, which wasn't Pep's fault. We won the Treble without proper FBs, Akanji and Ake played at FB, but they are mostly CBs.

Well the decision to actually buy a LB this time suggests to me that he now knows he needs them. I just hope he gets a proper RB in then I think you’ll see a huge improvement and maybe you will understand that round pegs in round holes isn’t rocket science and the ‘fan on the net’ thing I’m not gonna waste my time on.
