Its a catch 22 situation.
The club are about winning trophies.and that is what they have achieved .
Would they have done it ,with a few of the academy kid's that we have allowed to leave ?
Of all the kids we have let go ,who are the ones that would have got in the treble winning side or squad.
Palmer and Lavia may have got into the squad but none of the others we have let go would be anywhere near.
On top of that we have received good money for them and none of them with the possible exception of Rogers have set the world on fire.

They can't buy Ekitike, put on the wages he wants and pass FFP and PSR. They are already at near 70% of wages to revenue and it's inevitable that the likes of Isak, Guimareas and co will want pay rises within the next 12 months.

Isak for example is on £120k a week at the moment. He could easily get £300k elsewhere.

Guimareas is on £180k, again, he is a £250k a week midfielder.

Something has to give.

If they get Ekitike, that for me is forward planning for Isak to leave.

thats one of the most boring, lazy and simple replies I’ve seen on here. The second would be ‘it’s been explained and discussed often enough that I won’t be explaining it to you’

Our record with young academy players is poor. Other than foden we have not produced a regular first team player in a long time. I think that’s an alright discussion point, even if you have decided no one can talk about it.

Conversations around youth players and the lack of chances they get or dont get, don’t just stop because you’ve already discussed them

Go get Trafford was watching the Ben Foster podcast the guy wants to be number one at City, said he loved his time here and he believes he can be number one here but left for Burnley to improve. He's 6ft 6 and homegrown, can play out from the back, good shot stopper, seems a lovely guy.

Ederson has got 12 months left , so does Ortega, looks like they are not signing a new deal. I'd love us to get Trafford he wants to play for us and wants the number one shirt.
