The day after the flash floods in Texas, FEMA sacked hundreds of call centre staff, following Doge decisions.
83% of calls to FEMA were unanswered. 300 people are dead or missing.

More on the Epstein files from the Bulwark. In this podcast, Julie K. Brown, the award-winning journalist who first broke the story on Epstein is interviewed by Bulwark's Bill Kristol.
 
It hard to keep up but Maga policy on the Epstein files is:
1. When I am elected, I shall release the Epstein files…… Trump campaign.
2. The files are on my desk right now for review…… Bondi.
3. I am releasing the Epstein files…… Bondi on releasing old hat public knowledge.
4. The Epstein files contain nothing of consequence. Case closed. ……DoJ/FBI leaked memo.
5. The Epstein files were all written by Obama, Clinton and Biden. They are fake news………Trump on Truth Social.
All clear as mud.
 
Trump has issued his policy on arms for Ukraine. Arms will flow to Ukraine through NATO and European countries will pay for them. If Putin does nothing to promote peace, I will strengthen secondary sanctions after 50 days.
Zelinski is pleased, NATO and Trump have moved closer together, Russia is relieved it is not worse for them.
So, some progress towards unity in the west. Trump has seen Putin is not his friend. Better.

Erm - Trump has allowed Europe to arm Ukraine - nothing will flow through - Europe will pay for new kit and Ukraine will get the old kit - that will take months to appear whereas Trump could have provided new kit much quicker.

Trump gives Putin carte blanch to do what he wants for 50 days when he knows TACO will do nothing. Also knowing that after 50 days he will also do nothing.

Agreed it is progress but not much

Hard to tell how this will all turn out, but it's got the potential to cause huge problems for Trump.
 
If your name isn't on the list, publish it...quite simple.

If you don't, then one could allege you are on the list or are using it as 'leverage'.

If it's release is voted on, it could blow up massively in the faces of the GOP members who decide not to.

Surely...SURELY, the one topic in any sensible world that doesn't divide opinion is child sex trafficking.

Would you want to see your name on the wrong side of a vote or decision made?


Bit curious as to why Maxwell hasn't shown her hand though.

So much conspiracy!

Isn't this the 4th time he's threatened to sanction Russia if they didn't stop what they were doing?

Given his resources there is at least a chance Epstein could have won his case or at least avoided being convicted on the worst charges. He had absolutely no reason to commit suicide, and yet he's dead by 'suicide'.

I'm pretty sure that will be factoring into Maxwell's decision making process to potentially spill the beans.

There was a vote in the rules committee of the house to ask for the release via a second stage. All but one Republican voted against it. So they have switched from campaigning on ‘release the files’ to ‘do NOT release the files’, presumably at the request of Trump. YCNMIU.

The GOP has now lodged a writ at SCOTUS demanding the refusal of Maxwell’s pending appeal. I think her appeal will fail and then the question is “What has she got?” As this is the US legal system it could be years yet.

And this spinelessness is precisely why the Epstein issue is unlikely to hurt him. TRUMP controls the information, and if it somehow slips out of his control and is damning, TRUMP will claim it is fake news. Then part of MAGA will believe Trump, and the rest of his support base will shrug their shoulders because boys will be boys, some Democrat is on the list, it was a long time ago, Biden STILL would have been worse, etc.

Just ask Dax. There is literally nothing Trump could possibly do to shake his support of him. Nothing.
