I have had this horrid feeling/ premonition since even before the tournament began that this lot would fluke a win ( being posting same practically once a week since mid June).

I absolutely totally want to be wrong.

I want PSG to win, I'm no lover of the French, but Chavs are just too jammy in cup competitions. And what I also go on about every season, but gets lost amongst Uniteds statistically improbable level of home cup draws is that Chavs get very similar, with just the occasional away.
The only reason they beat us in the final was because pep wanted to be the fucking man and make such a crazy decsion with Rodri . Still really annoys me tiday that one .

Well done Chelsea especially on destroying the very acceptable yet very expensive super power and world dominance of the new media darlings
Any mention anywhere that over 81k watched this

Chelsea just as bad maybe worse they are in record at being cheats that gave them a massive sporting advantage which if they didn’t get they’d may not got to where they Did!

Totally missed my point

Well done, but lets be honest the amount that they have been able to invest since their recent take over, the bare minimum should be winning this competition and at the league title.
Watching it, they looked like how we looked when we could press but not as good. Hopefully the new players and a bit of a rest allow us to get this fight back and bring the very high intensity press back.
As for Palmer, we tried to keep him, he wanted game time, we could not guarantee it, so he took a chance, we got a good fee (as he had not broken out that much by then) and he has got what he wanted so no idea why people always post about it after every good game he has

Involved in all competitions this coming season, let's see how they cope with the pressure of games every 3-4 days after Christmas and with the expectancy of a strong title challenge.

Not sure a Cup will suffice.

And if Palmer gets injured, can they cope?

They won’t win the league, it’s so obviously going to be a stroll for the scouse twats again, aided by refs/var.

Chelsea probably second though.

Well done Chelsea

Never really minded Chelsea as they upset the apple cart with the reds shits first

And the farther in law who passed away aged only 51 was Chelsea through and through
I agree, got a couple of uncles in their 60s who support Chelsea, long before the money came in,so I'm happy for them.
And they certainly get under the skin of the scousers for some reason.
They will be a force this season I feel.

Credit where its due, they made a very good PSG side look ordinary, which takes some doing this season.

I wonder how many Chelsea fans, celebrating in that stadium tonight, ever stood in The Shed back in the day .... probably a handful, tops?

I mean, how many fans of any of the European teams were regular local match goers 20-30 years ago? I would guess less than 1%?

Winning a summer tournament is all well and good, but the league is the bread and butter, and we haven't achieved over 70 points since 2022 where we got 74 points and still finished miles off the champions. The last we sniffed anything close to a title race was in 2017 when we won it.

My point is, this team has proven nothing. Beating PSG in a final is nice, but I have seen nothing yet to suggest we will finish above Liverpool, City and Arsenal, especially seeing as all 3 have strengthened since last season.

Blimey, you sound a bit glum considering you’ve won the inaugural Club World Cup in front of 80k …. were you like this when you beat us 5-4 back in 86’ at Wembley?

I still remember you losing to Scarborough away in the League Cup, it’s those fans that went then who deserve all the plaudits.

Enjoy your time in the sun mate you deserved it, next season you'll be better than you were last season IMO, it'll be a tight title race.

I wasn't born yet in '86 so I doubt it :)

I would say I'm at the right level of optimism and realism. Winning a summer tournament is fantastic but as I said, winning week in week out in the league is a bit tough and requires the kind of consistency we haven't showed in nearly 10 years. This Chelsea team is still in a prove it phase for me. I know we're a good team but I need to see something in the league before I place us above or even the same level as Arsenal, City and Liverpool.

Maybe, I'm not saying it's impossible. Both you and Arsenal only finished a few points above us last season, but you've both improved again.
