There is literally nothing Trump could possibly do to shake his support of him. Nothing.
What you talkin' about Willis? Donald Trump holds his supporters in the highest regard as moral agents.

"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn't lose any voters, ok? It's, like, incredible."

Well, not that incredible given so many of his supporters are American "Christians".

I genuinely don't think he can last the full term - the chaos will start to cause so much damage to MAGA and the country they will work on getting him out.
I think this Epstein fuck up has salted the wound a little even with some of his supporters. If prices continue to rise as they are predicted I think backlash might start with those not completely brain washed. It could be the first straw, its definitely the first real crack in social media support which I didnt think we'd ever see.

The GOP has now lodged a writ at SCOTUS demanding the refusal of Maxwell’s pending appeal. I think her appeal will fail and then the question is “What has she got?” As this is the US legal system it could be years yet.
If anything happens to Maxwell, I expect that list will end up being published in a British newspaper.

Nobody cares.

Of course, nobody cared about Watergate for a long while. But Nixon wasn’t a cult. And the FBI, DOJ, GOP and the Supreme Court weren’t largely slaves to Nixon’s will. And voters were capable of changing their minds in the face of, you know, information and data.

Some MAGA cultists are capable of self-intervention. Unfortunately, the ability to question ones beliefs and to engage in fact checking - is, I think, extremely rare. Nonetheless, I'm glad that some of the cultists are beginning to see reason:

Trump has issued his policy on arms for Ukraine. Arms will flow to Ukraine through NATO and European countries will pay for them. If Putin does nothing to promote peace, I will strengthen secondary sanctions after 50 days.
Zelinski is pleased, NATO and Trump have moved closer together, Russia is relieved it is not worse for them.
So, some progress towards unity in the west. Trump has seen Putin is not his friend. Better.
The cynic in me thinks he pushing this 'hard man' angle with Putin to portray himself as a leader, to deter from other stuff going on. When you hear what Lavrov thinks, it tells you how serious they are taking this 50-day threat.

Wonder what 'the other thing' could be?

I'm not sure what to make of your post. Is it tongue-in-cheek/ironic? Or do you actually think that no one cares - perhaps 50% of Americans seem to care about this issue according to the URL you posted. Or are you simply drawing parallels between Watergate and Epstein-gate?

In the Donald Trump thread you posted a link subsequent to the above where you credit this post for making you more aware of the issue:
https://www.sfgate.com/sf-culture/a...o8Y_Z40AAkvfw5OKDk_aem_XQfRQ0mQLqUxtdObk86TTw

Along these lines, if you haven't watched the posts I've already cited on this issue above (especially the Bulwark link - the Mediastouch link is much more salacious/speculative but still worth viewing IMO), it's well worth your while to do so. I had no clue about this issue at all until viewing these posts.

I've no idea where this issue will lead - but IMO there's a lot of there, there in this issue - and both Democrats and MAGA want transparency on this issue. Which means - that this issue (complete transparency with regard to the Epstein files) has unique bipartisan, support - and might well cause Trump huge problems.

I don’t believe MAGA will abandon Trump under any circumstances, period. Even if he’s on the list, which he likely is, I believe they will excuse it away based on who else is there, “boys will be boys”, “this is all a lie”, “So what? Biden would still be worse. I’m still voting Republican”, etc. Obviously I hope not assuming Trump is on the list which, I repeat, he likely is. But I agree that the response to any and all MAGA types any time they say or post anything should simply be “RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES”. In all caps, of course :).

That inestimable coward Dax will never, ever, ever give up Trump — ever. Just ask him. And he’s not remotely as stupid or loco as a huge number of MAGA types. He is completely pot-committed and over the event horizon. There’s no going back.
