Rebound goals from penalty saves

Think it's already the case that if the ball rebounds off the post the kicker can't be the first to touch it? I'd just extend that rule and make it so the kicker can't touch the ball if the keeper saves it as well.
this seems like a good compromise

Oh, and an ad break before and after the pen.
next will. be an Interview with the goalie before its take.
You know we can have a laugh at this, but I wouldn’t put it past the yanks and the tv media to think that’s a fantastic idea, football in oh I don’t know 20 years will be nothing like it is now, wouldn’t be surprised they try and bring in 3x 30 mins instead of the 2x45 mins..

I agree that it's more interesting. I'd keep them, but cut down on when penalties are awarded - very few deserve to result in an 80% chance of scoring. Keeper trips a player about to go round him is worth a penalty - mistimed tackle on the edge of a crowded box almost never is.

If football was invented tomorrow the idea of a penalty would be laughed out of town

Someone gets tripped up 17 yards from goal gets a free shot, 12 yards from goal. It’s absurd when put like that

I’d certainly get rid of rebounds. Quite apart from a fairness as aspect they are just so shit - everyone gets excited by the save for about 0.5 seconds then realise the attacker has an open net

What’s the difference between that and a keeper making a great save when the ball is in open play and the attacking player banging in the rebound?
Or saving a free kick from just outside the box and someone knocking in the rebound.
A penalty is just a free kick in the box with nobody ahead of the ball or within ten yards. Once it's taken the game continues with the single exception of the taker not being able to play the ball if it comes off the post, as is the case from other free kicks.

So the keeper brings down a player just inside the box as the player was rounding him with no defender near to him or the goal posts.
In your rules for this newly invented game, what happens next?

If they want to change a rule, stop the keeper coming out of his box. Stop him acting like a sweeper. Sure there would be more goals. If he does come out it's a red card.

I’m not sure. But the event you described and similar are few and far between. Whereas soft, game changing penalties, happen almost weekly

Just ban them for a season and see how it goes.

I would abolish them. It’s hard enough for keepers to save them, why should the attacking team get a second chance?
Because it’s always been part of the game, adds to the spectacle and can turn joy to despair and vice versa.
Surely there are more pressing concerns than changing a long standing part of the game that does nobody any harm.
