He should, but he isn't, and he isn't because he's lying to a constituency that the other parties not only do not talk to, but don't even acknowledge exist.

Of course Farage is lying and the video does a good job of exposing those lies, but it's not what Farage says that matters, in exactly the same way it didn't matter what Trump said in those long, incoherent, meandering speeches on the campaign trail. What matters is Farage is talking to this country's indigenous people, the people who've always been here or been here so long as to make no difference, the grand kids and great grand kids of the folk who fought in two world wars, who voted Churchill the Greatest Briton, you know those people, the ones who embody mainstream British culture, you know that culture, the one other parties believe is just one of many in multi-cultural Britain.

Of course not all of this constituency falls for Farage's lies, and even among those that support Farage I've no doubt there's a fair few know he's lying, but it'll makes no difference, like Trump in the USA, it's the fact that Farage is speaking to them that matters, sticking it to the elites, the political parties who hate the indigenous people of this country so much they don't even recognise them.

With the Conservatives, Labour and the Lib Dems there is no us and them in this country, but with Farage there is very much an us and them, us being the people who invariably call this country "our" country, a phrase Farage uses a lot.

When Farage talks he is the us that's always been here and he's telling the rest of us to hate them that have only just arrived.

Farage for all his obvious shortcomings, his lies and his deceits, has been these last fifteen years and continues to this day, to be the most influential politician in this country and by some distance.

What a fucking depressing thought that is.

I don’t mind ‘Old Nigel’, because some people find him ‘funny’ compared to the other ‘wimps’ in Parliament. I like the way he tells you how it is, in his mind, but doesn’t tell you ‘how it is’ in reality.

He sells you a story, a fable, a narrative, that some, maybe of a certain disposition, will believe, or want to believe, because they like that specific element. Then, he doesn’t have to know how to actually fix that specific element, just give populist answers or, say ‘I don’t know’

And that’s why I like the Farage’s of this world, people who tell you exactly who they are, what they will do, and leave out any detail of how it will be achieved. That leaves people to make an informed decision on what will benefit them, such as lower tax burden, lower protections from regulation, lowered social systems, higher personal insurance costs, etc. and the biggest one, for many, ‘Stopping the boats’, much better, much faster, than anybody else who ever tried.

If he’s your type of guy, bet your life on him. Or your sons and daughters, or your grandkids, surely he’s the one who will ensure that future social infrastructure and protections will be in-place for when we all need them.

Yep, I like the bloke. More than some can imagine.

Oh, I agree. I can't see how he's going to get close to recruiting 30,000 extra police officers and cut crime in half. We'd all love to see extra police on the streets but he's gone ridiculously big in citing a figure as large as that. A bit like increasing the personal tax allowance to £20,000. How many working people wouldn't want that? Trouble is, it would cost an absolute fortune and is surely unworkable, even if it was done gradually over a full term of government.

It’s all bollox-where do the police go? The Tories closed 600 stations..thousands of admin staff gone…hundreds of courts…probation service gutted-prison service on its ass…

30k extra police-who’s going to do it when pay is crap?

Nightingale prisons-bollox

Every shop lifting offence recorded and investigated-bollox-you’d need closer to 300k extra…

Nightingale Prisons? Did he propose that? They would be a security nightmare - if I were him I'd look to recruit 30k prisons officers not Bobbies - from what I recall Nightingale Hospitals were set up mostly in existing civic buildings, you know those places with access and fire doors - laughable if anyone takes this as sensible and achievable.
