I hope he hasn’t been reading what some of his so called new supporters think about his signing for us on here, because if he has he should say fuck you and go and sign for Newcastle and make and watch you eat your own words. It fucking baffles me how quick people are to write other people off so quickly.

Yeah, god forbid somebody has a less than 100% overwhelmingly glowing opinion of somebody we are linked with. We should be taking a leaf out of the cultists dippers book and proclaiming any player linked to us to be the best player in the world in their position.

All those factors do make a difference, and yep, his flirtation with Saudi teams last summer and Galatasaray now really do show he's itching for a move.
Going off his recent comment he is happy to stick around for one more season. We aren't going to let him go cheap.

If Gala make an offer of £5m and we can bring in Trafford should we accept and do a deal for Trafford with Burnley?

I find this very difficult to answer because I have no means of knowing how good Trafford is. I assume City know because we must have been tracking the player. I am not that keen on keeping Ederson if he's leaving anyway in 12 months.

If a professional footballer spends their free time reading what anonymous people are saying on a forum about them and make career decisions based on what they find, they're probably in the wrong job.

I rated him in the youth set up, I rated him at Burnley and I rate him now. Is he going to be better then Eddie maybe, maybe not but he is young and has huge potential, ederson has been great for us but honestly I think he hasn't been near his best the last two seasons, think he fancies a change and a move would suit us both. The amount of games we dominate but the opponents score their attack is staggering then we are chasing and are getting caught out in transitions.

From a Burnley ST holder…

Honestly mate he’s world class shot stopper but flaps, I don’t see city standard, he’s a bit of a strange character aswell. Hopefully we can get stupid money, I’d let him go to the mags.
Ask him what he thinks about signing Kyle Walker
As regards Trafford I will trust the club who have an intimate knowledge of him from being a kid over a fan
For what’s it worth watching him in the PL with Burnley I told my son he would be back at City one day

Joe Hart was bought before the takeover, we were shopping in very different markets back then, but I agree mate.

Also Joe Hart spend a season on loan at Birmingham before he broke fully into our team, was nominated for PFA young player of the year whilst on loan there and was put into the PFA team of the year.

That is some feat considering some of the GKs that were in the league at the time.

Trafford doesn't even touch Harts weak left wrist at the same age.

Every club in the country wanted Joe Hart at that particular time, Mancini recognized it and went with him.
It was Sven who choose between him and Casper

If he's consulting this board for guidance we have other problems.

We would concede less with Trafford; he's a great shot stopper and pretty smart with his feet, and if it stops the opposition from getting a goal with every other shot, we have a big, big chance this season, with Eddy top 4 at best.

Also conversely we wont be anywhere near as comfortable playing out from the back and we will give the ball away more to teams who press us.
Ederson has been pivotal to the way we have played over the last few years.

There is also the fact to consider that a lot of the goals scored against us are high percentage chances which means very few are even saveable ....our back 4 needs a lot of attention or we are going to have an inexperienced keeper being exposed and under intense scrutiny and pressure.

Spot on, but it is more than the back four. They have looked vulnerable because we didn't press aggressively from the front and lacked the physicality in midfield. Once that unit re-establishes that, the defence will look as safe as houses again, IMO.

A bit knee-jerk.

I'm sorry, I don't think Trafford is as good as Ederson. There, so what.

I LIKE that he is club trained, seemingly wants to come back, and the promise he has for the future or long term, IF, he develops to what people think is his potential.

But does he walk in and make our first team better if he replaces Ederson? Does he Fuck!

That's ok to say and or think. Doesn't mean I don't want the move to happen, doesn't mean I think the club are daft, doesn't mean I think Trafford is shit or unwelcome.

I don't think Ederson has turned to shit, I don't think he is incapable of playing to a high level that's higher than most keepers, even if his 'heart is not in it' (which I don't buy is the case). People judge football on social media headlines these days rather than what they see on the pitch. Ederson is still a great keeper and ideal for how we play.

If he wants to leave, and the club help enable that, all the best to him and thanks for his (big) part on the 17, 18 or however many trophies. But, Traford is not the same level to replace him, at least not now, and that's an ok opinion. Neither is Ortega, should he stay btw.

More than happy to be proven wrong.
