Liverpool are replacing both their long serving full backs, that is a big change considering how much of their play goes through their full backs. One injury to either Van Djik or Konate and they are starting Joe Gomez!!! Their defence is new, have less depth and will take time to gel.

Same can be said about Arsenal's attack. Gykores did scored plenty of goals last season, but Premier league will present different challenge and it may take some time for him to start firing. Left wing is still a problem area for them. Open play goal scoring may be a problem for them if the left wing and striker issues remain.

There are lots of changes in each of the Top 3 sides to make a concrete prediction of who will fare better. One clear advantage we have over these 2 is Pep. He will be raring to go after last season's turmoil. Plus, it will be an exciting thing to see how our young team is taking shape across the season!

Good post mate. Tbh as long as we use the young players and play with zip and pace I’m not bothered if we win nothing as it will still be progress .

We have far more depth for me. They are short at CB and in midfield. Liverpool fans will be thinking if they have big injuries to key players they don't have the cover. Don't forget if Konate, Diaz, Elliot, Chiesa and Nunez all leave, they will have to buy atleast 3 new players to replace them. No guarantees that those players are going to improve them. Players like Diaz, Jota and Konate going to very difficult to replace like Mahrez, Laporte and Alvarez were for us. Players like Elliot, Diaz and Jota who don't kick up a fuss come in and do the business for them.

It’s our defence that is a massive problem as it’s so injury prone and slow but if get that sorted we will be good moving forward .

Marmoush has better stats last season! But it’s not putting Wirts down he was world class in Germany but we wait and see if he is on level as Ken for us

Maybe certain players are digging their heels in,not getting the same money from other interested teams so no intent of leaving at the moment..

Cherki. Best creator in Europe. 19 assists 11 goals, twenty two big chances created in the league , 42 overall last season. 4 chances created per 90.

Cherki's overall expected assists (xA) across all competitions was 18.3, with a per-90-minute average of 0.53, which means he was expected to assist a goal roughly every other game.

In Europe's top five leagues: Cherki had 11.7 expected assists.
In all competitions: His expected assists totaled 18.3.
Per 90 minutes: He averaged 0.53 expected assists.
Comparison: This placed him at the top of the charts for expected assists in Europe's top five leagues.

Wirtz is a better goals scorer both great players but Cherki is miles ahead in chance creation, expected assists and creativity.

It's just his price tag and apparent attitude issues that have played this transfer down. He's only 21 and putting up numbers like this.

At this time all I'd like to see is the goal keeping situation clarified quickly (I believe they start pre-season next week) so whomever the keepers are, they can work with the defence prior to the season start, and a recognised right back to give options. I don't believe the right back needs to necessarily be world class but pace and stamina would be essential attributes at this time

They have some great players , but so do we

Wirtz hasn’t played a game for them yet but he’s already better than all our creative players. Foden is a better player than him for a kick off

Their proven world class players are all the wrong side of 30 and we’ve seen what happens when they suddenly hit a wall

They’re replacing two of their first choice full backs who offered all of their threat out wide with two players , neither of whom can defend

I think we are quite evenly matched and I think it will be a close title race next year

The only caveat I have is we need to ship a lot out before the season starts , hopefully it’s the older players leaving not the younger players we’ve just signed

Definitely teams interested. Probably holding off till closer to end of window seeing if we become desperate and they fancy getting them at a bargain

Foden needs to get back to his very best very fast ,his last season was miserable.
