Fixtures Calendar - 2025/26

I’m beginning to wonder if they’re not going to bother announcing the September TV games until after the Champs. League group draw. Which I think is on the 28th August.

Possibly. I think it’s 99% certain united and arsenal will be tv and Burnley will not, but it would be good to get the details. I’m assuming those first two will be 4.30pm on the Sundays.

Edit. Though united depends on matchday 1 fixtures doesn’t it?

Yes the derby can’t be on the Sunday if we’re playing CL on the following Tuesday.
What’s further complicating things is that CL is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week. Two English teams will presumably play on each night but if ourselves or Arsenal are on the Thursday, it rules out Sunday for the game at the Emirates the weekend following that.

Why would Arsenal v City not be on a Sunday if both were playing the previous Thursday in CL? No different for Europa League followed by Prem Lge and no different to Wednesday to Saturday.

I think Arsenal v City will definitely be 4.30pm Sunday but the United game could be any tv slot with uncertainty about the CL fixtures

Happy to be corrected but I think they only use the Thursday for match week 1 - to make up for the final round of games all being on the Wednesday, so tv companies don’t “lose out” on a night so I assume
Correct. That week is exclusively for CL with no Europa League games. Following week is exclusively for EL with games in that competition on Wednesday and Thursday.

So we could play arsenal monday night??
It's the Carabao Cup third round (when ourselves and Arsenal both enter the competition) that midweek so very unlikely that any of the clubs involved will have Monday night PL action then. That round is played over two midweeks of which that one is the second but the CL clubs obviously can't play the week before.

Would be surprised to see us play Monday Tuesday

You’re right. I had a momentary loss of any kind of logical process there! Apologies.
If anything the likelihood of the Arsenal game being on Sunday goes even higher due to the chances of one (or both) of the teams possibly playing on that Thursday.

We're getting to the stage that there's too much football for telly now, even they can't massage the dates to fit games in.
I know it wouldn’t be popular but having European games on a Saturday and/or Sunday would solve it. Dinner time for Conference League, 2pm & 4pm for EL, 6pm & 8pm for CL; or split over both days but keep all CL on the same day, all the EL on the same day etc.

Wasn’t there a plan at some stage to have w/end CL games?

That would be the beginning of the end of domestic football

I know.

Personally it (weekend Euro matches) wouldn’t bother me but then getting rid of the CL format and returning to the original knockout format wouldn’t either.

It’s not the competition that’s the threat it’s the format, and same goes for the CWC we’ve just had. Like it or not but some countries will want to give up or reduce their national leagues’ statuses in favour of further European or global competitions. We’ll probably have to reduce ours eventually. Maybe an 18 team PL with an expanded Carabao Cup for the teams not qualifying for Europe. (Or bring back the Texaco Cup?)

Waiting for fixtures to be confirmed like this is ridiculous.

As previously Stated they were due 2 weeks ago, same day as August
Yeah, I saw that on Mag's excellent calendar. But go on the club's app, and the sept fixtures are "to be confirmed". I've got a ticket for the Burnley game, but I can't do anything re flights and accommodation yet. And if the game is shifted to the Monday night, that rules me out.
