Gabriel and Saliba/Van Dijk and Konate are both class and have that physicality we are lacking. That's what we don't have at the moment and that's what these clubs have over us. A much better defensive duo.

I'm taking our midfield and attacking options over anyone else's though.

well VVD would most likely get exposed in our system too. But yeah we need more physicality in that position. Maybe Khusanov will get more games this season and make a name for himself. Gvardiol + Khusanov doesn’t sound bad at all. As long the second starts to speak English.

I dont think he's gone as you put it, still more than capable but I do agree with you about the cause of a lot of their goals.

He has this self preservation mode where he'd sooner be out of position or not up with play than to be there and get done. I think he'll be targetted soon. If im a striker playing against the dippers, im peeling on to an aging vvd over a konate next to him.

I heard his head has been turned by one of the Saudi clubs - crazy weekly salary to basically set his family up for generations.

They have bought well as the money they have spent seems to be instant upgrades to their 1st team. Of all the money we spent in January and the summer so far, how many improve our 1st 11, Ait-Nouri and Reijnders only I would say.
