North Stand Construction Discussion

One to keep an eye out on.

Some of this fan experience stuff will probably be part of the new stadium tour, in the city museum, in the souvenir store, the roof walk, etc?

The video isn't up yet. I checked.

The junctions of the top parapet of the terraces to the glazing at each height change really are fucking terrible.

I have been noticing it for a good while, and I had been wondering why it hadn't bugged or even caught my eye when the approval came out.

Looking back at it, it is because they changed it from the approval, which had glazes parapets, and they have now gone solid and clad in the same as the horizontal panels. A bit of a shame.
Wait until they finish it. All constructions look shit until they are completed. Man United’s ground managed to look shit long after it was completed.

That's not really true, not always. And certainly some things you can tell, well before.

The finish and snagging around the expanded South stand was shit and still is shit in parts. The South stand expansion finishing was rushed.

The finish in the new bar area was great, and it still looks good.

Is it not over 2 floors? They're the ones that annoyed Coatigan when they changed from glazing to solid facades ;)

The last thing you want with a load of people wearing VR headsets and hammering real footballs is glass windows.
Ground and first floors = store
Third floor museum maybe includes some Vx
Fourth floor is tour and Vx (AR & VR)
That’s as far as I’m aware

Absolutely correct re windows and VR reflections create havoc with the cameras A point I made to him previously

Google AI.

VR rooms often lack windows to prevent sunlight from interfering with the VR headset's tracking system and to minimize potential damage to the headset's lenses. Additionally, covering windows helps create a more immersive and distraction-free environment for the user.

I think it was Coatigan who said the layout of the 4th floor(?) was changed with voids through to the 3rd floor now, perhaps it'll be more one floor on 2 levels if that makes sense? Although having people of any age running about with VR headsets with big random voids sounds like a disaster waiting to happen :)

It's got my interest piqued, that's for sure.

As someone who was responsible for Vx (VT & AR) at a major OEM that is exactly the case The cameras that are used for tracking are sensitive to the lights and reflections, all in one headsets ( in built tracking) less so, a large room with lots of windows and sunlight is a nightmare About ten years ago we were asked to set up in a showroom for a customer demo and it was impossible we had to use a small room in the back We used a whole range of headsets from consumer to highly specialised one cost around 6k such as the Varjo
We helped develop a virtual meeting application called Arthur, run on HTC Vive, where everyone met in the virtual world with Avatars made to look like the person that had synchronized eye movement was superb but unfortunately some of the seniors in the company didn't like using headsets It is used in lots of companys
https://arthur.digital/
Talking to the Sisk guys at the open day they were telling me they use VR / AR to check the building for snags comparing the actual and the virtual I forget the app they use unfortunately

BTW Im not aware of possible damage to the lenses, think thats nonsense

Sorry for derailing the thread

Not at all mate.
It's relevant to the new fan experience inside the fan zone.(claw)
That's very interesting.
Thanks.

Hopefully the roof is weather-tight by the start of the season…
The South Stand wasn't after the extension, they left gaps, then used pallets, then filled in the corners about a year later but they are already leaking.

I remember mentioning it on here about 10 years ago and getting shit for it. People were moving from their seats to the back of the stand to avoid the waterfalls.
