As for being a "beard," there are famous people who do this sort of thing, even in this day and age. Not saying this is the case with Dias but he does dress very flamboyantly. Him being from Portugal, I don't know if being gay is accepted there like in some other countries. I do think amongst some segments of the football community it isn't very accepted.

Wowser. I've normally got a pretty spot on gaydar - not meaning to offend anyone, but I've never once had that feeling about Dias....

How did it come to this? Bad recruitment where no one thought of signing playmakers who can get the ball to our forwards through a low block! ( but Nunes can and that forces our hand and we have to play him! I mean just look at our team.. the usual people aren't providing assists! Foden still hasn't provided a 10 assist season and he's been playing under Pep for 8 years! So the assists have to come from somewhere. )

I think we should find someone versatile who can do a defensive masterclass there while still being able to play other positions because there are not many right backs who will have Nunes's offensive production.

He is not in the same bracket as Arnold. At the very least he is a right back. His defensive qualities may be questionable but he knows his role. Nunes is a stop gap at best .. If we offload him I would be quite happy.

LOL That would be sawing off the branch you're on even though you don't like it.

Yes we had KDB to rest on and prime Gundogan and Julian Alvarez providing assists so that Erling and Foden could feast. Then Gundogan got old, KDB got old, and Julian left. We still haven't found people to pick up the offensive creativity slack.

So Nunes has to stay as he and Erling have chemistry and that's something you can't say for the rest of our team.. they just love to Side to Side and Backwards.
