The champions tag weighs heavily through the season. You're not the Liverpool of the 70s 80s when you rolled everybody over with fear. Everybody will want a bit of you and want to take home points off you,
I see many changes to the normal top 4, Chelsea will be in the running for the title, Newcastle will be better, Arsenal now have a striker and will be hard to beat, City and Liverpool will have to hit the ground running and not drop many points early doors
My top 4 will be
Chelsea City Liverpool Arsenal, not in that order, but places
Half the team could be different from last seasons! so whilst the weight of being champions will be carried by some there are others that will have eagerness to impress. Both need to be embraced rather than feared.
Teams do tend to come with a plan but when the tempo is right we try to suffocate, harass and force teams into mistakes early.
I am not delusional. Just hope we give everything on the pitch and have no regrets at the end of the season. That is all a supporter can ask for.
I don't know what to expect from city. People talk about missing Rodri, which is fair, very few pundits/media and perhaps some supporters seem to appreciate the absence of KDB. I feel like he was injured a lot in the last 2 years but in one you managed to win the league. KDB absolute genius striker of the ball and needs replacing if that is even remotely possible!
Arsenal whilst having signed a striker do need to get back to playing how they were 3? years ago. They played quick attacking one and two touch football. They reminded me of the 2014 city.
They are so focused on physicality that they have become rigid and their play seems a lot slower and more methodical. Arteta needs to let them go out and play! they have the defensive structure and players to cope.
The amount of players Chelsea have is quite an hinderance especially when the team doesn't win. The ones who aren't being picked start to ask questions or cause issues.
They also don't convince me at the back atm. Plenty of time in the window to go though! to get players out and a new CB or two in.
They do create a hell of a lot and will probably batter a lot of teams into submission. A lot of pace.
Chelsea could be the ones, if like you say , we both take time to get going. It wouldn't be that big of a shock.
