My name is Magicpole and I'm a Pickleaholic. There, I've said it. I am the kind of twat, who gets anxious when I even think about having none in the house. I'm anxious now.

I love literally any appropriate thing when its Pickled in fantastic vinegar. Vegetables, herring, mussels, onions, gherkins, you fucking name it, im having it.

I was wondering if any other sad **** also love pickles? If so. Which ones? Any recomendations? Any off the shelf you love and would recommended?

I would recommend the silverskin pickles Lidl is selling, yellow/orange lid, only 69p and amazing.

My partner thinks I need help. We moved house and I smiled when I noticed she had labelled the sealed box, FUCKING PICKLES

Home pickling you say? I do this all the time. Well not all the time, but often. Truth be told, never as good, I've let everybody down. Especially myself.

Another aspect could be pickle, as in, got myself into a right pickle. So, if you hate pickles, but have been in a few, fill your boots and tell us all about it.

If anybody has any objections to how fucking dull this thread could become. Hang around, its a winner Tom.

Or it won't be.

Can’t beat a pickle, although I draw the line at eggs.

Mate used to work at Pandora pickles on Hollinwood Ave years and years back. Would give me a weekly supply of the big, fuck off pickled onions and gherkins.

This thread may be more popular than you think.

You jammy, lucky bastard I love Pickled eggs too.

Many here in the transfer forum are in a right pickle.

I do love a pickle - gherkins and jalapenos my favourites.
I spent a couple of years in Romania and pickling was a passion.

Packed with Potassium apparently which is good for me as I have a condition which is helped by eating food like that. Bananas too.

I keep meaning to make some pickled sprouts for my salads and obviously beetroot is another great product, packed with nutrients.
Cook your own beetroot in the oven, unpealed, wrapped in foil. Depends on the size but about a hour at 160c. Test with skewer for softness. Commercial beetroot is boiled leeching all the goodness away.
Let it cool, peal and pickle.

Pickled limes, lemons all good. Branson small pieces.
I love that Indian pickled lime, great with sardines on toast. Go to Indian shop and get imported version, better than Patak’s.

My old man used to pickle his own onions, strong as a strong thing from....well you get the drift, house reeked of it for weeks after each batch, naked flames were banned. Used to make his own wine too until the day a clutch of a dozen bottles exploded, went on the anti-terror list at MI5 suspected of manufacturing IED's

Pickled cauliflower and pickled walnuts are my favourites.

Only ever need to use a tiny bit of the walnuts as they've got a habit of overpowering most other flavours, but still a very nice savoury addition to lots of stuff.

Cauliflower is ace sliced up and put on a simple cheese sandwich.

Yum-yum, I'm hungry now!

True, I just don’t have the time to mess around pickling my own vegetables.
