Tino Livramento

That could have been us if we hadn't gotten in before the drawbridge was pulled up. Invest in the squad, finally win something and then get the rug pulled out from under them in spectacular fashion. Absolute protectionist bollocks.

Newcastle owners should have blitzed this corrupt bunch but it looks a bit to me like they bought Newcastle not to become the best but to have an asset in the PL and if the Geordies stay in the PL they'll be more than happy.

Until we start seeing other links I will believe we are still trying to get him.

We may want Livramento but it’s all to do if Newcastle will sell and I don’t think they will. Hopefully we either move on or have someone else lined up in case.

Would love this one to materialize. Livramento great potential and alredy really good. My guess is Newcastle is desperate to hold on him, but their trouble is Livramento wants to join City. Hes not doing Isak and hes not using press (just yet?), but my feeling is he would jump on our train. Even more so that he gonna fancy his chances to play many minutes as things stand.

Our approach for him before CWC is well documented and if we spend time about him it means we have a notion he would like a move.

My guess is we made an approach after CWC as well and Newcastle asks for keeping it quiet (want to prepare replacement, they have tough mood lately) and demanding too much (maybe like 80 mil?). Actually young hot talent, has played for England at every level. For now, made a debut in first national team, although it's a special position (Walker, TAA, James). Regular playing time at City is also a huge opportunity for him to boost his status in the national team.

I would pay it I think, but City probably try to push it down, question is what is our ceilling for Livramento and how far is Tino willing to go in that case against Newcastle, because otherwise Newcastle might not give up

They can't afford to lose him and Isak in the same window.

Isak seems to be kicking up a fuss to get a move, and I can't see Tino do the same.

Unless we pay an eye-watering sum I don't think this one is going to happen.

Would you pay 80 mil for Tino if asked?

Cracking young player but if we pay £80m for someone with 1 international cap and under 100 top flight appearances (not all starts) I would be shocked - particularly if Dumfries has the buy-out clause and is arguably a better player (I know he's 29, still has 4 years at the top)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Porro would have been a monster for us imo

Even though Dumfries would be incredible and for me he’s first choice, but I could imagine for the club older fullbacks are risky, they can go from world class to absolute shite in 18 months (can happen to players in any position but fullbacks it happens a lot more imo) 80m for livramento is way too much imo. We still need a better GK than Trafford or Ederson, a RB, CB, top winger imo to get 90 points plus which I feel is what you need to win the league in 25/26 or have a chance to win the UCL. I’m a “I need to win now” my dream Summer window would’ve been…Donnaruma, Dumfries, Konate, AytNouri, Reijnders, Cherki, Rodrygo obviously not gonna happen because we aren’t shopping in Harrods like we used to but with those players, we’d be back to our very very best.

we need to try to do player+cash offer. Barcodes struggling with their targets all summer, this Isak saga also blew up in their face now.
we have number of players we want to lose with lots of CL experience which is something Barcodes should look at. Ortega imo better than Pope or Ramsdale. they could have picked him up for 10m.
likes of Stones, Akanji also could be very useful additions for Howe. Grealish too if he can stop him drinking and motivate him.
and the best, they can have the Yorkshire Pirlo literally for free too.

I think they are in for shock when they find out who they play against in CL and their high intensity style will be crushed when instead of sitting back between two PL games and relax they now have the likes of PSG, Bayern, Barca games to manage.
and no chance they finish top8 in CL chart, so they deffo get extra two games in February two unless they are so bad that they miss out on top24 places. so its 10 extra games for them between September and February, only 1/2 maybe easy like it was for us Slovan Bratislava etc.

Is Livramento even that good?
Can't say that I've seen much of him.
I'm sure he is......
Plenty of Newcastle highlights on YouTube. It's mostly goals though, so you only get to see how he defends in the pressure situations and not in general play. If you do decide to take a look, note that from February onwards he played left side rather that right. Having watched a number of them, my opinion is that he has plenty of mistakes in him and also has a tendency let his opposite number run past him. I'm not convinced he would improve us.

I've hardly watched him, but Newcastle fans I know rate him very highly, one saying he #d be devastated if they lost him. Their take on him is he reads the game is very intellingent and whether popping up in midfield or attack is always in the back right place when the ball is lost to defend. As my Geordie friend says, they often think 'how did he get back there?'
