Trailer Time...

Things left to the imagination in literature can be better than an author holding the readers hand all the way through a book, I know what happened at the end of the story but someone else reading it might have a different ending and they'll know how it ends.
The new Running Man film is actually based on the book, I read it way back in 1988 (one of the many I read on my Falklands tour), I didn’t realise it was even what the Schwarzenegger film was based on at the time. It was only a short story but a good one.

I'm hoping it gets binned off after this! Apparently it hasn't had anywhere near the same pull online as the others did.
Yet they’ve made a fortune at the box office and he’s had the green light for 5, so 3 down 2 to go. Such a shame he’s wasted all this time on them when he could’ve made other stuff.

Yeah, I'll give Cameron his well earned dues, that the previous 2 have made $6Bn! That's mindblowing by anybody's standards!

However, creators like Cameron can get lost within their own worlds and lose perspective of what interests people. To me, I think he's shown everything in his head and it can only be a downward spiral, especially if the narrative is poor. The story has been poor throughout, but the visuals saved it.

Now, everyone's seen the visuals.

Ye it gave a resurgence to 3D and is still stunning in that, unfortunately it’s died again, although Cameron is supposedly working on glassless version

"Glassless"??

How's that gonna work? Are they playing with optical illusion? Beaming it straight to your brains??

Although as an aside I still, vividly, remember the first time I saw the 'chess' game in "Star wars" watching 'Chewbacca' getting pissed! I'd love to see that 'reality' in my lifetime, so imagine that with films!

No idea mate but he did mention it a few years ago

Let us know what you think. I might try and catch it sometime.
Don’t bother mate. It’s fucking dog shit and I don’t know if it’s still a thing, but the sci channel wouldn’t go anywhere near this.

Bad special effects and it’s all done through the scope of fucking Ice Cube watching it all unfold via a computer. I kept on expecting him to ask a hoe to get him some bbq and a 40oz bottle.

It’s fucking shite pal.

I, honestly, don't see why this is a popular franchise, but hey ho...

I love them personally, the first was excellent, the 2nd felt a bit long but both were visually stunning.

It's a place to get lost in cinema for 2-3 hours.

There does seem to be an online buzz for this one and I believe there will be 2 more after that.

It'll comfortably make 1.5bn+ in my opinion, 2bn+ more than likely.

Same. I was out of the office when the directive went around saying that these were good. The first one was stunning from a visual standpoint. But the storyline (the little guy taking on the corporate giant); well, it's hardly an original plot, is it? And it looks like they're going down the Disney/Star Wars route of milking an original hit film for all it's worth. But hey ho, it seems there's a market/ demand for more Avatar films.

We'll agree to disagree to the term "comfortably".

I think the market has changed, myself.

People were predicting less than 1bn for the 2nd one, Avatar is constantly underestimated.

As a cinema experience its one of the best out there, watching at home doesn't do it justice. It's fairly simple story and great visuals are a recipe for box office success.

The only thing I don't like about them is the length, numb arse and wanting the film to stop in the cinema rather than pausing it at home.

Mind you Marple cinema house has an intermission with ice cream and everything.

I see your point, but you haven't factored in that it was 10 years between 1 & 2. This one is 3 years to make.

Not the same nostalgia to chase, especially as the others are on digital/ streaming to catch up on.
