Tino Livramento

All done.

Just outgoings it seems

Sounds about right really, no right back and if it's true we are going to be struggling like fuck in that position again all season.

Mind you it'll make the jeopardy all the more interesting when our passing disintegrates in their half :)

Hugely disappointing if true.
It’s clear that we do not have the players to sustain the right back position, unless Pep has a new tactical idea.
Who knows?

I've hardly watched him, but Newcastle fans I know rate him very highly, one saying he #d be devastated if they lost him. Their take on him is he reads the game is very intellingent and whether popping up in midfield or attack is always in the back right place when the ball is lost to defend. As my Geordie friend says, they often think 'how did he get back there?'
Yeah, I realised that when watching the highlights, the from a defenders perspective, I was mainly going to see the things that went badly and probably not the all the other bits of great play that prevented goals. Having said that, I think that our RB options would get lambasted by our fans for some of the mistakes you can see in those highlights. Someone's perspective is usually influenced by what they're used to and I would say at this stage in his development and based on what I'm used to seeing, he's not better that what we've already got. That's not to say he could join City and be an absolute revelation, maybe our system, with Rodri fit and at peak performance might work well for him.

I hope it's the latter, something like 3 CBs and RAN (or Gvardiol in his absence) basically as a left winger which would allow the player on the left of a front three (Marmoush or Doku) to be more of an inside forward. Nunes has done a decent job at RB since the turn of the year but we cannot go into the new season with him as first choice there.

Surprised if we don’t sign a full back given its importance to our system and the lack of a specialist. But I think we will be ok on 90% of games but do worry about tight games at the business end of the CL and away at Anfield/emirates. But if the right player isn’t available then better to wait 12 months. Imagine if Newcastle don’t make CL then it will be fairly straightforward to get TL if he is the ideal.

During the UCL final against Inter we played Akanji, Dias, Ake back 3 and Stones been inverting. Although earlier against Real its been Walker who took Vinicius out of the game

if we told this to Gaughn who was a Txiki mouthpiece, then nits fucked up. I guess we will see lot of Akanji at RB nd Nunes at RB but vs quality opponents they wont be good enough. Nunes better going forward than defending, Akanji is horrible on the ball he wont make any forward runs from RB and then put in a cross a quick one-two with someone...

Assuming we make it to the business end of the CL
