even Everton doesnt want him?

it will be bit of reality check for lot of posters who think very highly of him. you would think Real, Barca, Atletico, Bayern and PSG all would do an auction for him based on some of great skills he has as per this topic.
but then why the likes of WHU, Everton etc mentioned and even those dont really want to make a bid.

will be sick if Sterling at Chelsea finds a club sooner than Grealish. or Sancho at rags. was gonna say Rashford too but he had actually Barca coming for him.

I want his agency to work their ass off to find suitors who can deliver an offer City can be happy with too. otherwise its really gonna end up like Milan or Juventus on loan with us paying most of the salary, no loan fee either.
or even worse he will sit on our bench most games taking home more salary than all the starters bar Haaland.

his confidence is shot, he need to play regularly to have any momentum going. its a WC year, last chance for him to impress Tuchel.

The problem with completely freezing someone out, especially when they’re on wages of £200k+ a year, is that you lose all leverage.

You can’t completely discard someone, then say you want £40mil for them.

He’ll either rot in the stands for another year or go on loan with us paying his wages right at the end of the window. Sad.

By various accounts his weekly wage starts with a 3. That’s a lot of “+” per week he’s on. He’s also got two years left on his deal. He will be very hard to shift.

6th highest paid player in the league.
We ain't shifting him, same as Stones(250k, 2nd highest paid defender after Van Dijk). Same as Bernardo, also 300k.
They're going nowhere without huge cost to ourselves.

Guarantee he'll be gone at the close of the window. There's plenty of interest in him, and City will be happy to subside some of his wages just to be rid of him.

Exactly, at a cost to ourselves. No fee, subsidised wages and then do it all again next year too. Dont care if he was good at keep ball in the treble season he's been an awful signing.

Oh I agree. Pound for pound one of the worst signings of the Pep era IMO. But honestly, we've had so much success overall in the transfer market and so much success during Grealish's time here that you can only shrug. Just get rid and move on.

Yet some on here think he would be a cracking 8.lol

He had his footballing education under Dean Smith and Steve Bruce. No chance he could cut it as an 8 in any team that is well coached and well drilled. The reason Pep didn't play him as an 8 was because whenever he did, he showed that he had no clue how to play the position in any way other than "off the cuff".

In another world

We would be starting against Wolves with

............Rodri.........
Grealish.....Reijnders

Foden...Haaland...Marmoush

Ive said it a million times but he'd make a great 8 for us.
I've never seen a player in my life as pampered as JG . He's been awful yet he'd be a great '8'. He as slow as a snail . Even Gundo at his age is a much better option and footballer

Just because Everton have "distanced" themselves it doesn't mean they weren't in for him. We tend to do exactly the same ourselves if a player we were interested in looks to be going somewhere else.

I think we (Everton) would love him to come as he's a top player. The issue is wages as usual with top players. We cant afford £300k a week so would need you to pay at least half of that by the sounds of it. But from your point, can see why you wouldnt want to pay £150k per week for a player to go somewhere else.

Think its a waiting game. We will wait to see if he becomes cheaper at the end of the window, you will be waiting to see if other clubs want to buy him or loan him and cover most of his wages. Maybe a compromise of lower wages, bigger loan fee will be made.

When the manager doesn’t want you, he doesn’t want you. It happened with the rags and Fergie with certain players over his reign.
One of my favourite games was at home to forest when he played in the middle- he had freedom and ran the show against an in form team. IMO he struggles out wide when kept in a small space.
I always thought he was great in big games when we went toe to toe with the opposition, he was always a great outlet and effective on the counter.
Probs a strange signing at the time, given the style of player he is, however, I’d have loved him to succeed, one thing being he’s a great guy- I always think and I don’t know, but seems something has gone on, that has made Pep write him off.
For me, he will be someone else’s gain
