Nunes has done enough to earn a reprieve imo, BUT I firmly believe we'd be far stronger & better off with Livramento as our main RB, with Nunes as his back up to rotate & rest with. I'd feel a lot more settled if this was the case.
The issue with Nunes comes when he has to face the likes of Mbappe, Vinicius & players of that ilk. This is where I'd prefer Livramento as our main option, with Nunes (for now) as the player to use against lower-mid-table teams.
With Livramento, we have to think long-term & stop with the penny pinching. It's not like we don't have the resources either. If squad size is the issue, then it's time for Pep & Hugo to make it clear that those with no long-term future with City, will spend the WC season not registered for the CL or PL, so to find themselves a suitable permanent or loan deal.
We can't keep prioritising Stones, Gundog, Stefan, Grealish, McAtee & possibly Akanji, Aké, Nunes & Kovacic over those players who'll form the foundation of City for years to come.
