They would have had a decent chance of going a long way in the European Cup if English teams hadnt been banned. Steua Bucharest won it '86, something their neighbours fans like to celebrate.Everton showing as the 3rd best supported team 40 years ago.
But they were a very good side at that point in time.
They won the FA Cup in 1984, and then followed that up by winning the ECWC in 1985.
And they won the First Division in 1985 and 1987.
You really need to get over that thing you have for Coventry!Coventry bottom with 11K
Always has been a shit supported club
Never!!!!You really need to get over that thing you have for Coventry!
Was there a few weeks ago; not many signs of gentrification…Never!!!!
Was based at RAF valley on Anglesey so got to most home games , before posted to Norfolk which was a right pain to get anywhere apart from Norwich & Ipswich
Ground crewDid you fly the Jaguar?
"Too Much ,Too Young" !!Attendances across the country fell due high unemployment, social problems and hooliganism. I was to young to realise. My first few years as an ST and went to many aways. No problems getting tickets to any away game like there is now.
They won the league cup, so wonder if it was a typo and should have said banned from the cup winners cup‘Disqualified’ is a wholly inappropriate choice of word to deploy there as it connotes culpability upon the affected clubs. Not quite sure what Oxford United did to warrant being ineligible to play in Europe.

I think the Heysel ban robbed us of seeing the likes of Luton, Oxford United, Coventry City, Wimbledon, etc. from playing in Europe. And how the teams from 2nd to 5th all missed out on Europe due to the bastards who finished 1st.
Yikes, West Ham had a terrific season, pretty close to winning the title.Just look at the final table for the 85/86 season.
