10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

I cannot wait for this guy. I feel there is magic in his boots. If he has the work-ethic too, the sky is too low a limit for him.

If he is humble enough and works hard, he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. My worry is, he isn't sufficiently mature as yet. The ability is scary, though. Can turn a game within 15 minutes like no other.

This makes me thing Pep will be careful and introduce him gradually in the league, with using him off the bench in the biggest games (unless his work rate impresses Pep).

A hunky chunk

Any chance Cherki could end up in the No. 10 at City with Grealish gone?

Has to be sorted before the season starts, right?

Pretty sure final squad lists and numbers are submitted at the end of the transfer window.

So I think Cherki will get 10 if Grealish goes. Big if.

There is going to be some wild comments in this thread about him over the next 12 months on both extreme sides of the scales so buckle up for that.

I think he'll be incredibly inconsistent early doors, could single handedly win us a game then disappear entirely the next game, the key is going to be getting enough contribution from him regularly in games where he isn't the star of the show.

Its going to be great isnt it?!

I thought he looked very very good in that first half. I loved the way he was looking for the ball all the time. At one point he popped up in the right back position. He clearly has a fantastic range of passing and I thought he linked very well with Bobb. With Rodri still out, tricky to name our starting midfield but hope he and Reijnders are in it. If Stones stays fit then I would risk him helping out Nico in midfield. If Stones doesnt play then we would need someone to help Nico - either Reijnders dropping back or Gundo/Bernardo and no space for Bobb or Sav/Doku. Getting Rodri fit and keeping John fit are key.

Nico
Reijnders
Cherki
Bobb
Haaland
Savinho or Doku
