While Freightliner is understood to have expressed a willingness to relocate from Trafford Park to nearby St Helens, the company is seeking around £400m for the land, with United valuing it at between £40m and £50m. Ratcliffe has made it clear United are unwilling to accept the asking price set by Freightliner’s parent company, Brookfield, and initial discussions are believed to have reached an impasse.

I love the phrase "Ratcliffe has made it clear United are unwilling to accept the asking price" in an apparent reversal of the seller-buyer relationship. I think he means "Ratcliffe won't pay what the land is worth" or "united can't afford to buy it".

Freightliner have seen the rags get their pants pulled down for Mbuemo and Cunha so are entitled to have them over a barrell for land they really need - go on Freightliner stick another 100M on for good measure!

It’s always been banded around it will take £300 million plus to move the freight yard located near the swamp so I don’t get their surprise at the figure being quoted. Perhaps they want the money upfront on not in the payment on the never never that the rags do with their transfer dealings.

What i don't get is how scruffy Jim said they could run out of money last year then this year find near enough 200m to spend.

Doesn't add up.
It is the summer holidays. The local council are paying 'Rashford Vouchers' so that the academy kids can be fed. They have put on a soccer school and invited all their 'twitter invented' followers under the age of 16 to attend. They are claiming £20 per person per week. They claim to have 3 billion in attendance.

Edit. This might not be far from the truth especially if scruffy sees this post.

I’ve been thinking about that “trophy lift”, when they won the pre season cup.

I think it shows there is still a rotten core within the team. They showed complete contempt for it, and the fans who had paid to watch them. I don’t expect them to go into raptures like a Premier League win, but just standing there like moody teenagers, sullen faces, is a disgrace.

Shows they think they are completely above it, and that must be the culture within the business. So often is it discussed (wrongly!) that United is the “epitome of football”, DNA is to win trophies etc (all the usual bollocks), which is just false when they are in the position they are in. They finished 15th - and don’t seem to have a plan, other than spend cash, to get them out.

I’m not complaining; it’s delicious.

So the rag fuckers are trying to get a £400 million piece of land for £40 million.

Calling Sly Sport Kaveh to the thread to enlighten us.

It's not just the cost of the land, freightliner will have to buy new land and build. Something they weren't planning to do so its not unreasonable to expect the rags to fund that. Hence the land price

Their plan to spend there way out of it with no other solution has been going on for 13 years now with 6 managers and counting. The guy they have now seems to be the least talented one barring Solksjaer.

They seem to be oblivious that signing players with a talent ceiling similar to the players they want rid of is going to help them target the top half of the table. They have a tough start to the season the knives could be out by Halloween.

looks like back on track signing young premier league talent Thomas Bramall

Sky sports understands there is a growing feeling that he wants to join the rags…
They’re desperate for him to
So Isak will stay in Newcastle. Better for us. Sesko will most likely flop anyways. Seems like United doesn’t learn from their mistakes. 80L for a 13 goal striker. Both Newcastle and United getting finessed

I don't understand why they are buying all these foreign players when they have the world's greatest youth academy. Surely theyve got some ginger kid and a couple of brothers from bury they can call up to the first team squad. Seems their marketing teams missing a trick and losing out on a sweet Netflix deal with Amorin's Adolescences. With a new Wednesday series coming out Garnacho should also be front and center on their social media. It's all gone to pot since they let JLingz leave on a free to tiktok

See the loons are getting all giddy about United being back :) cannot wait till October when there planted in 10th place

Talksport going in on the money angle for Sesko joining the rags, which is funny to hear. Also saying the fee is too high for a ‘diamond rough around the edges’

Saying a player that age at this stage of their career should be choosing Newcastle over the rags, given the clubs’ respective positions in the game at present.

Snub them Sesko!
