TV Series

The Assassin with Keeley Hawes. Managed to drag myself through 2 episodes and it’s fucking horrendous. Gets decent reviews from what I’ve seen so hoping it gets better.
I compared The Assassin to Black Doves(both featuring gun-toting older women) but Black Doves was much sharper and I thought Ben Whishaw was great. The Assassin had a few funny moments but it just seemed to be trying too hard to shoehorn the laughs in and many of the characters(like the brother and sister) were relentlessly annoying.

Myself and Mrs Biggie are watching Countdown ( not the C4 one ) really good and can't wait for episode 9 to drop

The handmaiden's tale.
I'm on series 3.
It's very slow but compulsive viewing, I've had quite a few late night recently watching "just one more" Great story line even though it has more holes than a sieve.
Only thing I find annoying is that there has to be ultra close up (almost nose on the glass) of someone looking straight at the camera at least every 5 minutes!
I'm half way through Series 4. It's a bit peaks and troughs for me.

Thought the first series was very good but almost gave up on it half way through the second, as nothing much seemed to be happening. But then it picked up and was on good form until about half way through series 3. But then there was about another half dozen episodes of fuck all. Enjoying series 4 so far. I'm going to see it through to the end regardless, now I've come this far, but I suspect my final review will be that they could easily have lost about a third of the episodes without taking anything away from the story.

Just finished The Castaways. So bad it was entertaining. I don't think I have ever watched a series with as many plot holes. For instance there's a 3 month old baby that doesn't age 1 day in the 6 months they are on the island

We found Hightown on Netflix, watched 3 seasons and enjoyed it. Bit far fetched at times, but honestly what isnt these days.

The pisser is, they could have easily banged out a 4th season to wrap it all up and it was caancelled before they could do so. Full disclosure in case you see it and want to give it a go.

Just watched the HBO Billy Joel Documentary "As it Goes" which is on Sky Documentaries - I'd highly recommend it. An excellent run through his life on/off the stage with the man himself, colleagues, ex-wives - it's all there no holds barred.
