Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Clubs in the bottom half of the PL buying players from clubs playing in European comps in other leagues has been happening for ages now.

West Ham and Newcastle who finished around the middle of the bottom half were signing the likes of Haller from Frankfurt and Joelinton from Hoffenheim, respectively, last decade, despite clubs in Europe wanting them. Even Watford managed to do it.
I get your point, but what what I was saying is Utd are signing these players ahead of a club who are (were) very much on the up yet can''t compete financially with a team that finished 16th in the same league.

But then have an unhappy player on your books all season which disrupts the rest of the squad. Would the Newcastle fans take Isak back after his conduct?

When Lukaku did this at Chelsea he was made to apologise publicly to Chelsea on national television.

I don't see a world where Isak doesn't move this summer. It's too far down the line, and far too many bridges have been burnt for this not to happen. Players in this day and age have far too much power.
Stick him in the stands if he wants to throw his toys out of the pram.

World Cup year, good luck to him

We welcomed Tevez back at the end of 11/12 and it's a good job we did!! I don't even think he apologised haha

The media are making sure rags and dippers are getting their transfer targets this window.....cunts

Would be great if Newcastle made a stand but lets be honest here, no other clubs make those stands
Spot on. It's wishful thinking. I remember when Baconface said it about Ronaldo amid interest from Real Madrid. Something about sticking him in the reserves. It never happened and the transfer went through.

The best thing Newcastle can realistically do is to squeeze as much money out of Liverpool as possible for him

Wasn't that the notorious "wouldn't sell them a virus" statement?
Then sold the virus in the very next window

That's what you think will happen. Not sure it's the same what Newcastle's bosses think, though.

They will promise him to let him go next summer IF he has a great season again and he will try to play at his best again. More likely scenario that.

A lot of people seem to take Newcastle's bosses for fools. They will sell only if this is the only way to address PSR issues, and for a huge fee. 125m won't cut it. Still think it's more likely Isak stays.

He scores a few goals and all is forgiven. Spurs fans are still celebrating Harry Kane.

The senior management structure at Newcastle is a shambles. They’ll lose isak and over pay hugely for rodrygo.

Not sell him. Set a precedent.

As it stands PIF seemingly don’t give a fuck about Newcastle, maybe they never did. The Saudi pro league is getting more attention and actively helping fund the dippers to come back with a bigger bid.

Looks like Wissa has a move to Saudi lined up also.
I would agree.

But the minute Newcastle said 'he is not for sale, and his price is 150m', it was pretty fucking clear he was for sale.

People rightly point the finger at Isak for his antics, but Newcastle's role in being utterly toothless here should not be overlooked.

Isak is a definite to Liverpool but I just wonder if all these signings they're making might dusrupt the balance of their team especially this season. They will either piss the league again or wobble from time to time, interesting to see
Its not a definite and they're definitely worth buying, all of them if you can

To be fair Levy did it with Kane, then sold the following summer
