London city lionesses have done some fantastic business. Compared to many WSL clubs that come up from the Championship, they’ve really shown commitment to get top players and cement themselves as a WSL team. I think they’ll do quite well this year and comfortably stay up. It’s great for the league to have a fully standalone (not connected to a mens club) team thrive.

According to Google they’re expected to double their average WSL 2 (FKA Championship) home attendance of 1391. Would be nice if they can get bigger crowds. We need a team in the league who had Bristol city levels of attendance

He wasn’t great. There was a big exodus in I think summer 22 where a lot of key players left. We’d constantly hear of fallouts with a particular player and then they’d be missing from the squad and swiftly shipped out. Didn’t matter on the player, reputation or ability.
Several key players have alluded to the kind of person he is and it shows with the amount of ex players and current team mates who supported Chloe when she took to social media to get a move.

He’s not a very good peoples person and that much was evident when Bunny Shaw was racially abused and he was asked how she was in the presser a few days later. He said “he hadn’t spoken to her yet” that’s your star player. She’s just been racially abused and you’re not putting an arm around her?
One or two on here had some connection with the team and said he’d often ignore you, talk down to you or exclude you from training. If you weren’t in the starting 11 you’d train away from the squad without much clarity or communication. Allegedly he spoke to the women very much how he’d speak to the boys when he was the academy manager. He hadn’t quite grasped that he was working with adults now and had to change his communication style.

He definitely has previous with this kind of thing and there’s a clear track record so it’d be more of a surprise if this didn’t happen again.

Ha ha. The Dippers are welcome to him. Wonder what odds I can get on them to be relegated.
 
Played out a 0-0 draw with the ragettes in a behind closed doors friendly at the Joie Stadium. Some of the new recruits featured:

City XI: Kheating (Cumings 45’), Layzell, Prior, Rose, Coombs (Lewis 45’) , Blindkilde Brown, Murphy, Beney (O’Carrol 45’), Casparij (McCaffery 25’), Thomas, Pritchard

Unused subs: Burden, Adedini, Antill-Mellor
