Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Pep has said; "A lot of players should leave. New players, I don’t think so,"

I think this is 'trimming the squad' and I don't think we'll replace him. Reckon Pep thinks with Foden, Bobb, Cherki, Marmoush and Bernardo, we're well served out wide.

I know it''s all about opinions, but I think he's gonna be a very good player. I like him and (I know I'll get pelters for this) personally I'd sell Doku before Savinho.

Bizarre off the pkayer. Hes Pep's preferred right winger. Shows his mindset to me, wanting to be a big fish in a small pond rather than a smaller fish in a huge pond. No problems selling him

£60-70m would be a decent price for savinho, with a buy back included. 50m euros is a poor fee he's got a lot of potential and think he could be excellent this year
This is where I am with it.

I think he could really kick on this year, second year with pep and the team, a bit of confidence, world cup year motivation. After the CWC I expect him to really come on, and be the player he was at Girona.

At the same time, he could also frustrate.

At 50-55m, it is worth that risk for us imo, and not worth selling.

Over 60m and approaching 70, worth considering letting him go.

So really all depends on the price.

He would need replaced. 50m wouldn't cut it.

Strange one this, seems to have come from nowhere.
He's inconsistent but capable of moments of magic, sort of player who if we sell will turn out to be brilliant in a few years.
The odd thing for me is why is he open to a transfer? Playing for a bigger and better club under one of the best managers of all time, and starts most games. There isn't much competition for his place on the right. Bobb can't stay fit.

If we sell who are we going to replace him with in 2 weeks?

It's all gone quiet in the James McAtee situation too, Absolutely no way will a club pay £40m for him.

Pep has said numerous times that he wants a smaller squad and doesn't like leaving players at home.

Yet it seems we are happy to cut our nose off to spite our face, We won't take the £25m and won't have McAtee in our matchday squads next season...Doesn't make any sense.

We have foden and cherki who can play there as well as Bobb. It's not like we are short of options in the position and most lineups in the wolves thread have either Bobb or cherki on the right wing, so I don't quite get the panic.

I think he got way too much stick for a 20 year old last season and his potential is pretty huge. However he does seem to sulk a bit and hasn't seemed totally happy and his final product clearly needs a lot of work.

My main concern is we are light on the left and he is the only one of the left winger options who has played there regularly. All though then again, Bobb played off the left in that Newcastle match where he scored...

North of 60 would not be the end of the world and most importantly;

With a foreign player leaving (in a position we are well stocked), that 60 mil can go towards what we already had set aside for a top class RB.

Also opens up the odd cup game for mukasa to be involved.

I’ve been saying all summer that him, Doku and Bobb is probably one too many. Savio is the one to go in my view - shown some signs of promise but the longer the season went on the more he annoyed me

I don’t think it leaves us short. Marmoush and Foden are the starting wingers with Bobb, Doku and Cherki acting as cover

Should we sell Doku instead? Maybe but if there are no offers there are no offers

Would be silly to sell him especially at the fee being rumoured. He’s 21 years old and a Brazil international with plenty of years left on his contract and no desperate need for us to sell; anything below the £70m mark would be bad business imo.

That being said, I can’t help but feel this is being pushed by the player / his agent. I just don’t see us telling him he’s surplus to requirements, regardless of the fact that we are trying to trim down the squad size.

If he wants out then I understand the club not wanting to stand in his way…although I still think we should be holding out for the right price, which is significantly higher imo than £50m.
