Rodrygo

this a word class player who has sick CL experience in knock out games something we should be adding if we want a serious go at CL imo.
Trafford, Ait Nouri, Reijnders, Cherki has none of that experience, Reijnders maybe a tiny of it with Milan but not year on year.

if its doable at around 80m-90m, with much of that can be brought in from the Savinho sale (fucking rip Levy off as much as we can!), I am all for it.

feels like Real with the manager change are struggling to fit all their attacking players in the starter and Rodrygo is the one on the out a bit as Vinicius, Mbappe, Bellingham aint benched at all.

Although an upgrade on Savino it doesn't seem to address the issues we face in my opinion.

Biggest issues for me in our squad is midfield and right back. Would like to see us pursue Wharton ahead of this deal.

Tier one for Madrid. He does this when a player is gonit's happening by looks of it.

I would absolutely love this signing. Jude Bellingham I believe said last year he sees Rodrygo as the most talented player in the Madrid squad.

He’s so skillfil and is a great finisher.

I’d say he fits our system better than Madrid and he could be great cutting inside and causing damage.

Haaland ahead of marmoush, cherki and rodrygo would be truly insane.

As Mahrez mentioned in a recent interview. Last year we lacked killers, those 3 would absolutely get lots of goals and assists.

Then you’ve got a plethora of talented midfielders behind.

Time to get even more excited.
That is the bloody spirit! We will see how big this will be soon enough. I think level and experience wise it will rocket launch rest of lads. Tbh none of us are really crying about Sav going are we

€100m for a Lw where we have Marmoush and Doku sounds about great deal especially when he will take away Grealish level wage

Bloody hell, didn't realise he only turned 24 in January. I had him down for 26/27 easily he's been around that long.

Still not the finished article.

I agree but that's a good thing. He's already got so much experience playing for a club with the highest expectations in the world and we can still take him to the next level.

He's young, versatile, incredibly talented, hard working and knows what it takes to win at the top of the sport.

My only gripe would be the alleged asking price but if we're offsetting that with sales then I'm not going to complain.

He'll make a terrific right back.

Not convinced Marmoush is a LW. Doku should only be an impact player, coming off the bench at this stage!!

Kiko as well is good for Madrid news always said there was another club as well as Arsenal interested. This clip is from 3 weeks ago

I just stumbled upon a really detailed analysis of Rodrygo on a YouTube football channel and wanted to share the main points. The host argued that Rodrygo is one of the most underrated world-class talents right now, and that many people misunderstand his actual playstyle.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what was said:

1. He’s Not a Traditional Winger
Unlike Vinícius Jr., who relies on raw pace and power on the wing, Rodrygo is described as a highly intelligent, technical, and creative player —
- a “true Brazilian street footballer.”
His game is built on:

Intelligence: He reads the game brilliantly and punishes the smallest defensive mistakes, like a defender’s poor body positioning.

Unpredictable Speed: He has an incredible burst of acceleration. He’s not just fast in a straight line; he slows down and then explodes into space, making him very hard to mark.

Combination Play: He thrives on quick one-twos and link-up play to get into dangerous positions, rather than just trying to beat defenders with pace alone.

2. The Problem: He’s Playing Out of Position. This was the key point. At Real Madrid, especially now with Mbappé’s arrival, Rodrygo is forced to play on the right wing to keep the team balanced. The stats shown in the video were quite telling:

Goals per 90 mins from the LEFT wing: 0.39

Goals per 90 mins from a CENTRAL role: 0.35

Goals per 90 mins from the RIGHT wing: 0.19

He’s literally twice as effective when playing on the left (his preferred side) or centrally. On the right, his game is much more limited. Plus, he does a lot of defensive work, tracking back for the team, sacrificing his attacking game in a way that players like Vinícius and Mbappé don’t.

3. His Frustration and Why He Might Move
The analysis pointed out Rodrygo’s clear frustration with this role. Even Jude Bellingham publicly said Rodrygo is one of the most underrated players who sacrifices a lot for the team. The feeling is that he’s a world-class talent being used more as a functional role player.

The video concluded that while most top clubs either have a player in his position or couldn’t afford him, Arsenal was mentioned as the most logical destination if he leaves. They need a top-tier left winger and have a young, stable squad that could accommodate a big signing.

Anyway, I thought it was a fascinating take. It shows he’s not just another pacey winger but a very clever, technically gifted forward who’s being held back by his current role at Madrid.
What do you guys think? Could a player with his intelligence and skill fit into Pep’s system?

We need some experience. Bobb/Doku/Savinho (if he stay's)/Cherki/Echeverri all lack top level experience. Not their fault but we need someone who’s been around the block a bit. Great age too!! Yes from me,
Especially with Grealish going!!

And some clowns on here say they don't rate him!
