What’s booing the national anthem protesting against?
Against the establishment. It has been happening for 30-40 years. It is a difficult one, how does one stop? I am also unsure what it is going to achieve, now. Maybe stop singing the national anthem, if we are at Wembley. We could sing Aqua - Barbie Girl. I am sure you would love that, especially, if we played 'the scum'

How many tributes / silences should there be?
Ultimately, although very sad this young man killed himself, his brother and devastated the lives of their family with what seems to have been an entirely preventable act of dangerous driving. To be blunt, victims of the stupidity most of us exhibit as young men but are lucky enough to get away with - probably because we can't afford to do it in anything more racy than a 1300cc banger at that age. I don't think it's ok to disrespect the tributes etc, I'm just not sure they should be happening.
About 5 people a day are killed in road accidents in the UK every day and road traffic collisions are the biggest killer of young people aged 15 to 29 worldwide. In 2023, as a result of a road collision 290 young people were killed in the uk and nearly one quarter of all road collisions involved young people.

Being really talented, rich, playing for Liverpool, and the accident happening in another country does not make this sad event any more notable than any other. Imho.
@Col12
They're having another one on Friday, Slot quoted in the Daily Mail 'So I don't think there is a bad intention to it because the fans of Crystal Palace and fans around the world have paid huge respect to Diogo and Andre. We will see on Friday when Bournemouth come to Anfield just how respectful that will be."

This isn't respect, this is cynical exploitation.

I think I recall Klopp saying something about doing things in a right way. That he liked the welcoming idea (I am paraphrasing) but in a right way. It is not a strong enough statement. Not a deterrent. I think an awful lot of people there had good intentions. Those bellends are typical of modern society. They don't care about anyone but themselves. I have no doubt, they went there with the sole intention of causing trouble. I am not disputing which club they are fans of. I do feel that a lot of them, would have been somewhere else causing trouble, had that 'event' not been taking place.

I am not sure, but you maybe, referring to fans mainly on social media/RAWK? IF you are, I stay away from those places, some absolute empty head Liverpool fans on those. I can't dispute that. It is correct. I don't even need to see more evidence than i've seen with my own eyes. I think it is a lot of the younger end, 25 and under, that get over excited. They are prominent in other fanbases too.

Supporters have been banned.
Wish you would stay away from here tbh

That does ring a bell. We went on to win it that season.
Owen was a strange one. In his peak, a lethal striker, super fast and a deadly finisher. But he had a ton of injuries. Also I understand he is a bit of an oddball e.g., has only ever watched four films, lived in a cul-de-sac with his entire family owning all the houses etc.

He was a sensational striker. We overused him, which caused a lot of his hamstring injuries. I think he was rather young, when he moved all his family into the same cul-de-sac. It was a great financial decision but a bit weird for a man of his age! Far too sensible and boring!

Having listened to his 'punditry', it makes total sense to me now. lol

Both clubs should have a tribute for the opening home match
Wolves laid a wreath and had a minutes silence for our only home friendly and bigger tribute will be on Saturday. We have done nothing at away matches - so two games only. Whereas Liverpool have for every game

Maybe something when both clubs play each other but definitely not laying wreaths and minute’s silence before each game at Anfield or molineux

Both clubs will have permanent memorials without the need to involve other clubs

Why should they make a special rule for one team, to not play the anthem? Very entitled isn’t it?!

It should be like anything, fines given for teams misconduct (or fans) and if that doesn’t work, then points deduction or similar.

I’m sure your fans would start to respect the tradition, should it be detrimental to them (and not just others)

Yes, there shouldn't be a special rule. You wouldn't want us singing a song with lyrics like, 'Life in plastic, it's fantastic'.

I applaud you, for taking my post seriously.

Why boo the establishment, when you have it firmly in your back pocket?
