Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I’d already factored him in to leaving along with Echeverri and Nypan. As it stands, with Savinho in the squad someone else classed as overseas has to leave or not be registered. If Savinho leaves and we want an overseas replacement, it’s the same scenario in that someone else leaves or is not registered.

Kovacic is injured until October but he’s a pep favourite and we reportedly turned down an approach from Saudi.

He was absolutely brilliant at Girona, and while frustrating in front of goal, has bags of potential.

I also don’t see the point when his favoured position is left wing, in selling him for Rodrygo, who wants to play left wing, and keep Doku in his third season, who… wants to play left wing.

My main interest in the Palermo game was to see the formation, tactics & who started.

The formation & tactics were the same as last season, & the second half team bore a striking resemblance to Pep's preferred starters, with the exception of Reijnders & maybe Cherki.

I thought with the new coaching staff, it'd be all change, or at least an evolution of our tactics & formation, but no, it seems we'll continue into the new season as we did last.

First fear - Almost confirmed. We'll see against Wolves & Spuds.

After a speculative rumour early last week of Savinho to Spuds, on Sunday night came an avalanche of claims that City were in "advanced talks" over the sale of the player!

I'm fuckin gutted! He's a young kid, whose had ONE season in a new country, in the toughest league in the world. He was playing in a dysfunctional City team, but still came out as our most creative outlet.

What the actual fuck are we doing selling him! And to Spuds! To say I'm seriously pissed off & dismayed at the possibility, is an understatement.

In terms of other outgoings, our ageing, injury-prone squad members are STILL refusing to leave, & Guardiola has played them all in pre-season, & now we've loaned out & seem to selling our future.

Second fear - becoming realised. We'll see the make-up of the squad come September.
We'll see Saturday right enough but calm yourself - we will evolve ;-)

Yes, with Savinho gone this would be the 17 non-HG:

1) Ederson
2) Nunes
3) Khusanov
4) Akanji
5) Dias
6) Gvardiol
7) Ait-Nouri
8) Gonzalez
9) Rodri
10) Reijnders
11) Gundogan
12) Bernardo
13) Kovacic
14) Cherki
15) Marmoush
16) Doku
17) Haaland

With HG being:
1) Ake
2) Stones
3) Bettinelli
--------------------
4) Foden
5) Bobb
6) Trafford

Registration not required:
1) Lewis
2) O'Reilly

To sell/loan:
1) Grealish
2) Mcatee
3) Phillips
4) Reis - officially loaned
5) Nypan
6) Echeverri
7) Savinho
8) Bah - officially loaned
9) Ortega
10) Wilson-Esbrand

So anymore incomings, does need another sale/loan on top of Savinho...unless they are homegrown, for which we have 1 association trained slot and 1 club trained slot or just 2 club trained spots..

The club are developing an unsettling habit of selling players I rate really highly. Palmer, now Grealish and Savinho. Clear to me that Sav is a young player with massive potential who's shown glimpses of what he's capable of in a team that wasn't firing on all cylinders. I fear we're going to be watching Savinho highlight reels all season. It doesn't help that I'm not a big Oscar Bobb fan, bit of a headless chicken imo. Totally irrelevant what I think, but it's not a great place to be when you're questioning the decision making at the club, especially when you've been broadly supportive of the transfer policy (Kalvin Phillips excepted).

It's OK ; panic over. We've told Levy to bugger off

I'm wondering how anyone could watch Oscar Bobb and come to the conclusion he's a headless chicken. Even if you don't rate him, that expression has absolutely nothing to do with his style of play.

And the idea that you feel unsettled by the club offloading dead wood like Jack Grealish is pretty funny.
