Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

The club are developing an unsettling habit of selling players I rate really highly. Palmer, now Grealish and Savinho. Clear to me that Sav is a young player with massive potential who's shown glimpses of what he's capable of in a team that wasn't firing on all cylinders. I fear we're going to be watching Savinho highlight reels all season. It doesn't help that I'm not a big Oscar Bobb fan, bit of a headless chicken imo. Totally irrelevant what I think, but it's not a great place to be when you're questioning the decision making at the club, especially when you've been broadly supportive of the transfer policy (Kalvin Phillips excepted).
Having watched Oscar Bobb throughout the academy, where he won POTY twice, Bobb is as far from a headless chicken as it is possible to get - he is constantly looking for the incisive pass to a well-placed colleague. I speak as someone who would prefer Savinho to stay and compete with Bobb for his place.

I'm wondering how anyone could watch Oscar Bobb and come to the conclusion he's a headless chicken. Even if you don't rate him, that expression has absolutely nothing to do with his style of play.

And the idea that you feel unsettled by the club offloading dead wood like Jack Grealish is pretty funny.
He Thinks Bobb is a headless chicken but thinks Savinho has massive potential???

Both have a lot to prove. But Savinho has been a let down for me. Very frustrating player. IMO.

Balotelli peaked during Italy vs Germany in 2012 + he was lazy. Not a good example.
No point cherrypicking other players at all is there.

Is Savinho better than Salah was at Basel and Bale and Soton, yeah absolutely. But how did Alli and Sancho do?

21 year olds can obviously have a meteoric rise or a hideous fall off.

fwiw the thing exaggerated in this thread is the weakness in his finishing vs the amount of assists he provides and the quality of his dribbling.

If he learns to shoot he'd be an incredible player. That might purely be in the confidence to not just make sure it's on target but to try and make it unsavable. I'd say even if he doesn't he'd still be a very good creative wide player (but not a goal scoring inside forward).

Can't see why he'd be worth less than Ekitike so 85m is where I'd set my baseline for value.

We won't get anywhere near 85m, if he goes it will be around the 55m mark imo

Savinho also seems a bit of a mard arse for me whereas Bobb seems a lovely lad with his head screwed on, I know who I’d rather have alongside me in the trenches

Savinho's crossing & shooting are poor BUT -and as Sir Mixalot would say, it's a big but - he isn't helped one bit by our (over)reliance on Haaland.

Haaland expects to receive the ball all of the time, and he also has 2 or 3 players marking him for crosses, which lead to our crossing looking worse.

Would I sell him ? Yes. But it's mainly due to the fact that I think that both Rodrygo & Simons are better players (if we can get either. If we cant then stick with him).
