It's Quiet the £250m return

I honestly have no idea what's going on at the moment - absolute flurry of activity & rumour over the past couple of days

IF we sell Ederson and Savinho and replace them with Donnaruma and Rodrygo I wouldn't be surprised if they also try to sell M. Nunes to fund/ make space for a proper RB. Don't know what happened over the weekend at City but it seems like the last few weeks of this transfer window will be more exciting than anybody expected.

This is all about Football Manager

But what if we sign Donnaruma on a 2 year deal. Ederson leaves , Ortega stays as 2nd choice and Trafford goes on loan to Newcastle as part of a Livramento package.

I just dont understand buying Trafford now when Donnaruma was on the market.

So strange

Last week it seemed apparent that we needed a right back. Since then Savinho, Oretega and Ederson are linked with moves, Grealish and McAtee are on the verge of leaving so we’re linked with Rodrygo and Donarumma but no right back. Nothing is making sense anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ederson went this summer, as much as I love Eddie it's pretty clear that he wants to leave. It's been carrying on for nearly two years now, maybe it's best to find him a new club as it is unsettling.

Ederson and Ortega out with Trafford and Donnorumma in would be great business.

I think too many are basing their judgement on last season, for many players.
It was a relatively poor season for everyone, so singling out Gundogan, probably because of age, is wrong, IMO.
I think this is also true of judgements of Pep and of the squad. Last season hurt people who had become so used to overwhelming success.
Yeah it seems some players have been permanently branded based entirely on last seasons shitshow.

Gundo and Bernardo were integral to our late season form that saw us grab that CL spot yet get no recognition for it. Everybody seems insistent that Akanji is now a massive liability that needs to leave when before last season he was as reliable as they come. We now know he was playing with a quite severe injury for most of the season until he couldnt cope anymore and had to have surgery. Yes he was shit last season but how he doesnt get a pass for last season with that information available is beyond me.

The only thing I can't agree with is Pep, I think Pep was predominantly to blame for last season. He insisted on sticking with tactics that were no longer effective with players that were not ideal for the roles and tried to force it instead of using what he did have available and basing tactics around getting the best from those players. Hopefully he has had a rethink and the coaching setup changes has given him new ideas because even with the squad largely fit, I dont think we are suited to those tactics anymore.

Agreed. Bernardo and gundo will be our midfield pairing for the majority of games in the first half of the season whilst kovacic and Rodri regain fitness. Gonzalez isnt close to being ready imo and Reijnders should and i expect will be used in a more advanced role.
Man, thats ruined my day that has.

Don't think Trafford came to sit on the bench for 8 years.

Surely he knew the club would be going into the market for another keeper with the departures of Ederson and Ortega looking extremely likely, with that, it was going to be a top keeper coming in.

It’s up to Trafford to earn his place like any other player I suppose.

Not unless we have injuries to Reijnders and Bernardo. Kovacic will be back October and Rodri next month. That's without Gonzalez and O'Reilly getting games.Still think it's Akanji or Gundogan most likely to go.
We’ll obviously find out a lot from the first couple of team selections, as we haven’t had a normal pre-season to judge things.

But I’d be surprised if the first choice midfield for the first couple of months isn’t Reijnders, Bernado and Gundogan. Kovacic won’t be rushed back.

I still wouldn’t be massively surprised if Gonzalez were to go out on loan late in the window.
