Club might be going all in and giving Pep everything to go again not just the league but champions league, Peps a fan of Donnarumma also the club are as well we’ve seen in the media.

Does feel like a few transfers we didn’t think would be available this summer are now available and club is getting involved. Rodrygo and Donnarumma being those available

He's a cracking Keeper for somebody but not us. He's let the centre half take a goal kick level of bad with his feet. Great at all the other stuff though.
Being realistic there's actually not that many keepers out there that's actually good with their feet. Yes, they try and play out from the back as that's the guidance they are given, but, there's not that many who are really good at it.

Ederson is an absolute freak with the ball at his feet, there's nobody like him in world football. Allison at Liverpool is very good with the ball at his feet although nowhere near Ederson level, that's probably it in the Premier League, David Raya gives the ball away an awful lot, but he makes up for it with his shot stopping same applies to Allison which is one of the best shot stoppers in the world.

Maybe it is a route we need to take, Donnarumma was an absolute giant for PSG and a major part of them winning the European Cup with his shot stopping capabilities.

I'm not convinced by the suggestion that Pep is a big admirer of his. Of all the big name, top keepers around, donnarumma is comfortably the least suited to Pep, hes poor with his feet, there's just no way Pep completely reverses his ideas on a keeper.

Im surprised Chelsea arent in for him, seems like a too obvious for it not to happen transfer. Can only guess they are insistent on a keeper with good footwork.

Would necessitate a system change in how we play out from the back though which I can't see us going for 3 days before the new season starts. If we signed him on a free early next Summer I'm all for it, he would win us games with some of his saves no question.

This is a mad one. Penny for Trafford’s thoughts if true, but from our point of view that would be a brilliant two to have for the next couple of years at least before one gets unsettled

Trafford is a great prospect but the caveat is that we had a buy back at a lower cost from which we can still make a profit.

I suppose the way we have to look at it is, no matter who we sign as a goalkeeper it's a massive downgrade when it comes to footwork ability.

There's nobody else on that level like Ederson.

When you look at recent European Cup winners, mainly Cortuois at Real Madrid, Donnarumma at PSG, Chelsea with Mendy, all aren't known for their passing, all incredible shot stoppers.

I understand it will be a change of system as to how we approach playing around the back, but that will be the case no matter who we get when Ederson is replaced imo.

Not good to play the ball with feet. But word class in goal. And a penalties specialist.

I think he’d be good in a post-Pep world, but this timing doesn’t work and I can’t see this happening

There’s a reason why PSG are getting rid, for me we shouldn’t be interested in him
I wouldn't necessarily call it "getting rid of him".

PSG offered him a new contract, he turned it down as the contract was to lower his wages that's been the stumbling block.

It's the route PSG have gone down, by selling Messi, Neymar and Mbappe ect they are lowering the wages and not throwing silly money at it anymore which has proved successful.

The fact is they wanted Donnarumma to stay, he has refused the contract.
