Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I think we should keep Savinho because I feel he'll become a very good player. I'd fuckin' hate to see him smashing it in a spurs shirt. If we sell I hope it's to a foreign club but I hope we keep him another season. If he doesn't improve this season then maybe consider selling.
I agree. It’s not encouraging for other loanees or young players to see a player sold after their first season, especially when that player clocked up more minutes than either Doku, Grealish, or even Foden. He can improve, true, but that’s also down to the coaching.

What’s not encouraging about it?

At the end of the day, Savinho hasn’t done enough. That’s the standard we are at now for City to be too fussed if he goes or stays.

The likes of Mukasa will be under no illusions of the standard needed to play the top the level.

What constitutes enough? If Gurdiola gave him over 3,000 minutes in his first season, it suggests he was more than content.

Young players know that it’s going to be tough to make it anywhere in the game, especially with our club, but they also know that all clubs make mistakes in planning and transfers and we’re no exception.

What like Spurs not wanting our money for Kane?
We're obviously worse than the Devil then

It's business. If someone offered you less than your bottom figure for your house, you wouldn't sell unless you absolutely had to.

Football is just rich men playing with money. Don't take historic disagreements seriously. Most are exaggerated to sell newspapers / get clicks.

he wants out - only question now is where to.
Did he 3 days ago?

Does he want out or does he just want enough minutes to make the Brazil side for the world cup?

I'd be surprised if he neglected to mention a burning desire to leave until mid-august, and seeing as he's one of our actually sellable players I think we'd have moved him on pretty quick if that was communicated.

Savinho is 21 and KDB was 21 when he was at Chelsea and improved significantly thereafter.

Perhaps we should sell Savinho to Chelsea then...

You really should stop spouting all this 'first season under Pep' nonsense. It's a myth. Some players take longer to settle at a new club (or in a new country) than others. That's all there is to it.

If our top assister "hasn't done enough" that's pretty bad news for every creative player we have.

But Bobb has "done enough" conversely

Imagine a cake shop owner going to the rotary club dinner and is sat next to another cake shop owner who has been slagging his/her shop off all year?

Incredible really isn't it mate? Every time one of these cunts attack our club they are really attacking the fans, no response to me shows how little the people at the top think of the culture and well being of the fans who'll be on the terraces when they're long gone.

The people 'at the top' - particularly foreign owners - don't actually give a shit about fans 'on the terraces'. They'll care even less when they've finally priced all the proletariat out of attending.

Football as we loved it died in 1992.

That wasn't with us that was with Girona and since then he had a massive drop off. Rodrygo literally has more goals against us than Savinho has for us. That is insane.
"A massive drop off" is 9G/A for a struggling team in his first season at a new club with an almost unrepeatable 2% conversion rate.

Sav scores 10% of his shots, just as a reversion to the mean, he's got 5 goals.

I like Rodrygo, he's a great player. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Savinho is better at 24.

If it was all about who scores for City's senior team why is there so much faith in Bobb and Cherki?

8 assists but only 1 PL goal is not good enough for our club.
Mahrez said it right, we lacked 'killers' last season.
Compare Savinho's 1 PL goal last season to our wingers from the recent past: Mahrez, Sane, Sterling and even Jesus. They always had between 6-12 PL goals per season ALONG with 8 assists.

I'm not sure there's as much mileage in comparing 28 year olds in title winning seasons to 21 year olds in struggling seasons tbf.

Mahrez isn't wrong but its worth remembering he was playing for Le Havre's B team at Savinho’s age.

Maybe if you've got a player who's excellent at dribbling, passing and movement (as all the stats show) you should spend a year just teaching him the mechanics of shooting, which countless less skilled players have learned over the years.

As for Mahrez I spent years in that thread trying to convince people he wasn't shit (or a mard arse) so it's funny hes like the gold standard now.
