If we're chucking 100 million about chuck it at fucking Hakimi we'd win the lot
As someone who has watched Rodrygo week in week out for years, I can say he has some of the best touch and technique I have seen, but he is also one of the most passive players I've seen considering his ball playing talent. He disappears for long stretches, and generally is not someone to rely on when the going gets tough. He just doesn't demand the ball or have particular flair and creativity which he can use to unzip a defense with his own effort. Instead he plays very schematic within the team, extremely disciplined and conscientious. Maybe this would be the perfect fit for Pep ball, for certain playing under Ancelotti who allows all the creative freedom in the world was not the most suitable environment for him, he was often lost and confused and it felt like we're playing with 10 players. I'm not sure but maybe we ruined him for good, plugging him in wherever he is needed, to the point that now he's forgotten how to play on the left too.
He has good off ball instincts so he will get into goalscoring positions, but his finishing depends on his mood. And hes moody, make no mistake regardless of him being industrious, he has a big ego and complained about not being on the BDO list or not being mentioned in the same breath as Vini, Jude and Kylian. He's also physically not elite. He is reasonably quick but hes no Doku. He is also a lightweight, and this lack of physicality prevents him from playing upfront. Hes essentially a tweener, a jack of all trades and a master of none. Hes better than Savinho, but worse than Doku and probably Grealish. I would be thrilled if you guys pay 100 million for him, but I honestyl believe thats a slight overvalue. At the same time he might completely rediscover himself with this team and coach, so part of the fee we're demanding is based on potential for this. But I am quite happy we're moving on from him since he never made the leap we expected, never had the breakout season and only contributed sporadically.
Even after an impossible day at work, pure stress, Bluemoon never fails to make me smileWe'll have to weight and see.
Rodrygo got stick from Madrid before 2024 UCL final because in a press conference he randomly started praising Man City and saying how we are the best club in the world and probably deserved to be here over of them instead of talking about the upcoming final game against Dortmund.
Irony doesn’t know where to look.Isn't dumbelle the psg player that's worth buying.?
“Better than Savinho, worse than Doku Grealish”?
If that’s the scout report from guy who watched him regularly, then I’d pass.
No problem.
“Head over Heels” is what Bruno Rat and Salah tend towards especially in the penalty box.
Fordyboy is one of our resident doom mongers.
It’s just something some posters do sometimes - guess the post writer.
I suspect his appraisal of Doku might be slightly influenced by being Belgian.Savio's level is way above Doku and we will regret selling him. To say that Doku is better than Rodrygo is just pathetic. I don't see Madrid, Barca or anyone else knocking at our door for him.
Oh dear. Oh dear. I’ve never in my 50 plus years put s footballers name on any top I’ve bought in the past. My heart is in the club. But you being a fan since 2011 wouldn’t understand thatI’ve got some bad news for you then mate
You’re a Bobb fan not a city fan.
I’m not even a big fan of Rodrygo but even I know that all that matters is trophies.
When we had Sterling Jesus Mahrez angry because they couldn’t play enough, it didn’t matter because we won the treble.
There’s tons of players, if they want to leave let them, replace them and keep the machine going.
Not sure he'll be that effective from a prison cell.If we're chucking 100 million about chuck it at fucking Hakimi we'd win the lot
My point is. If picking academy kids with great potential to become world class slow us down a bit. Then I’d do it over success. And yes it is possible City could be champions this season or pick up some sort of silverware. But that would be a big bonus if it meant Bobb was part of itI absolutely love Oscar Bobb and personally think he's more than good enough to be a regular for us...
Sorry but I don't really understand the last part of your post, it sorts of contradicts itself, the way I see it is we've more of a chance of being successful by playing Oscar Bobb, where as you think if we play Oscar Bobb we won't win trophies?
Maybe I'm reading this wrong.
I suspect his appraisal of Doku might be slightly influenced by being Belgian.
To be fair though, neither of those clubs is after Savinho either. It's Spurs.
I can never decide between the 2 players. Both Doku and Savinho have different skillsets but neither totally convince or excite me in the same way as Sterling/Sane and Mahrez/Sterling did when played together on the wings.
