Both the Bristol teams home Tuesday night

Lived there for uni from 89-93, at one stage they were both fighting for the third flight title. Some lively derbies around that time, including pitch invasions etc
Sadly The Gas have been in huge decline for the last couple of decades, even dropping into the conference at one stage
City remain a solid championship club but can’t seem to get over the line
Biggest city in England to have never hosted premier league football
If an investor got hold of Bristol City, the potential is huge. Much much bigger club than Bournemouth, Brentford etc
That said, the city is rotten with armchair plastic rag and cult fans. They would both outnumber Bristol City fans comfortably. Pathetic

Football didn't begin in 1992. Bristol City had a couple of seasons in division 1 in the 70s. I remember seeing us lose 1-0 at Ashton Gate in 76-77.

Hence I said premier league
Old enough to have watched them at Maine Road in division one. A guy called Tom Ritchie scored in that 1-0 defeat I think? Header from a corner?
First club to go from 1-4 in successive seasons iirc, after being hit by financial problems. The ‘Ashton Gate 8’ agreed to rip up their contracts to save the club
So yeah, back off the smart arse 1992 comments. Got loads of family who support both, was there a few weeks back

17 games without defeat this City team will not be beat

Then came Ashton Gate absolutely gutted still reckon that game cost us the league then lost to Leeds right after in FACup
