Frustrating that we've secured young talent and then moved it on, even on loan. But rather than take it as a sign of us acting rashly or mistakes in scouting, I take this as a sign that we are happy with the ability, fitness and commitment of the current, more experienced pros, namely as Stones, Ake and Akanji.
If we are going in to a season with fully fit Stones and Ake in particular, I'm happy. I'm sure there is a call back option too should someone suffer a big injury.
That would make a centre back pool of Dias, Gvardiol, Stones, Ake and likely Khusanov. On paper it's ok, and indicates also potentially that we're continuing with our passing out from the cak despite recent claims we're going more kick and run like Klopp's dippers, which makes sense, but I think like most of us I'm slightly uneasy at the resilience of some of those to play intensively three times a week, and wonder where the dominating defensive displays will come from when needed.
