Definitely think there is a balance to it.

Ederson is so good on the ball that teams just dont bother pressing him anymore. So the benefit isnt as big as it used to be.

They got fortunate a few times in that run to the final. They were fairly average at Liverpool and could have gone out, and fucking abysmal at Villa and should have gone out.

Even when playing well, they often give teams a chance.

Teams don’t press high anymore and if they do, it’s to the centre backs and not the keeper’s. I reckon Ederson was that good it changed how teams press
