It's Quiet the £250m return

Ah fuck okay I get it now, so the young ones go to list B anyway and we just have more spots for locally trained players and still 17 foreign.

Still, I think that means we could register more on the A list if we signed English players no?
Yep, the rules can turn your head inside out at times. Bobb BTW is too old for the B list I think.

If we signed homegrown players we could put them on the AT spots (presuming we had any free) or even the CT spots if they met the criteria (again, if any were free) but we're still over stocked for the 17 open spots regardless.

so I’m wrong I thinking that 8 of the 25 on the A list have to be locally trained, with 4 of those being club trained, and that you lose spots accordingly if you can’t fill them?

Because that’s my understanding and why I think we want Livaremnto and not a foreign right back, as they would join the 8 locally trained on the A list and not one of the remaining 17, with a young player shifted to the B list
No, I'll try simplify it.

The limit is 17+4+4 NHG/HG/CT. For the CL. In the PL it is 17+8, with no distinction between HG and CT. In both, U21/B-List players don't take up any of the 25 spaces. But in the CL, to count as u21/b-list they need to have been at the club at least 2 years.

Let's ignore the PL list, because a)the club always build to the CL list, and b)the CL list is more onerous so complies with PL by default.

We can have no more than 17 nhg.

We can have more than 4 hg. But they then take up the nhg spaces. We had this previously. You can have more than 4 ct, but they them take up hg spaces, and if those are full, the nhg spaces. We never had this before. You can have less of any category really. But not more.

So you can have 17+4+4. 17+3+5. 17+2+6 etc. Or 16+5+4. 15+6+4. Etc.

We currently have 20+3+3. We can sign one more over 21 club trained player (say joe hart for example). We can also sign a hg player like Livramento. But we still HAVE to bring the 20 down to 17, whether or not we do that. U21 players that have been at the club more than 2 years don't take up any of those spaces whether we have 17 or 12.

Hope that makes sense.

Edit, also seen subsequent respnses now, think it has all fallen into place.

To be honest, think of the social media clout someone like Romero has, whether you like it or not.
Link up with him, and you guarantee world wide exposure to anything you want. With city’s constant desire for market expansion, it was only a matter of time before we started directly giving him steers

Your first paragraph is not wrong That's all true but there is no obligation to fill the quota. You dont have to have a 25 man squad, as we've regularly shown, you dont have to have 4 club trained, 4 homegrown or 17 foreign players. They are just the guidelines you have to adhere to if you want the maximum sized squad. You can come under in any or indeed all of those if you choose, you just cannot exceed it.

Players eligible for the B list, don't need to go on the A list so there's no use in naming them on the A list just to fill a gap, they'll go on the B list and that is that. It makes no difference other than limits the potential for changes when registration re-open in the winter window which permits a total of 3 changes. So for B list players, you dont need to consider them at all.

I can't make my mind up about him. Sometimes he's really settled on the ball and other times he's erratic and on his arse all the time.
Like you said he's not going to be getting many minutes again.

He`s nice and tidy in the pockets at times but i have reservations that he is consistently going to be at the level we are at now?

Rico been offered double money from Forest.

He's having a meeting with Pep to see how the land lies.
We should sell and he should take the money on offer from Forest. However, I think him being English will make the club want to keep him and potentially give him a new deal on better terms.

We play mostly not big games, I feel that fact is under valued. Being able to rest the match winners for the biggest games is part of the role of an effective squad.
I agree and that works well when you have a starter and someone who is a good backup. Unfortunately, I feel we have 2 backups at RB and that for me doesn’t work. It’s then a choice between who is the best backup out of Nunes and Rico and it’s Nunes by some distance. A scenario of Livramento and Nunes would be great IMO.

Kinell for a minute thought we'd resigned Mick Channon!

Rico is a fine back up CM. We've got to find 4 club trained players each year from somewhere.

I would hate it if we sold Rico Lewis and the wife would be devastated as she loves her little excitable puppy as she calls him. That said, your scenario makes sense.
