It's Quiet the £250m return

Good luck finding any player in the history of football that Bobb isn't magnitudes better than according to Bluemoon.

Out of interest what makes you say Bobb is so much better than Rico?

Just watch him at academy level. He’s a great player. He needs time to develop but our patience (if we have any) would be rewarded. Bobb is an intelligent player who reads the game and links with those around him. Rico is a bundle of energy - not without talent but his ceiling is ,miles below Bobb’s.

Personally think our signings since Hugo has been involved have been smart. Fairly unknown players for reasonable prices.

Donnarumma and Rodrygo don't fit that model. So I'll be surprised if they rock up.
Would like it if he has those in his locker though tbh. At least one

Sometimes the model changes. People are saying we’ll go more traditional, but we have Pep.

He’ll now reinvent traditional and get accused of ruining that.

A proper keeper (or two), 1 solid full back for now - expect RB to be addressed soon, some proper wingers, a midfield that runs for days, CB’s that hit you. We are about to change football again. I’m so excited for this season.

Champions again ole ole?

Still nobody been mentioned definitively for Lyon.
Yeah this is an odd one. Maybe because of their financial problems at the time it was needed?

Bah rejected them. Maybe it was always you can have Bah and that didn’t work out.

Give them Phillips!

a midfield that runs for days

Wouldn't say that about Gonzalez and Cherki, and Rodri is not at his best yet. Bernardo can still run a lot but not with the same intensity. Gundo is 35. Don't know about Reijnders stamina wise.

A key task of the midfield in a Pep system is to make the game less open-ended, i.e., to avoid a lot of running. That's why we could win 4 in a row. Running for days is for Liverpool :)

That said, I'm excited about the season as well. But I expect a relatively slow start: the new players need time to get Pep and the league, Rodri needs time too. There's no replacement for him because he's the most influential player in the world when in form. Put him in that Madrid side instead of Mbappe last season and they compete much better than they did with Mbappe.

A cool take.
The first month or two, for us, is just about being close.
It is going to take time for players to bed-in, but there is too much talent for it not to begin to click. The presence (fingers crossed) of John Stones will be key during these months. It is also why the idea of getting rid of every, single older player was always nonsensical: the younger players will need some older, cooler heads around them. If Gundo is able to get back to his usual form, he will also be a tremendous help. These players just cannot be played for 90m three times a week, but they can be enormously valuable.
