Sverre Nypan | Middlesbrough close to agreeing a loan

Have we not previously sent a couple of players on loan to Middlesbrough and if I am remembering right either was recalled or got something like about 20 mins playing time..
Looking on transfermarkt the only recent deals were sales of Morgan Rogers and Micah Hamilton. The only loan was is 2011/12

I suspect Championship football is a good level for him to play at this season where he should get games and learn something of the intensity of English football. It looks like their squad is a bit thin - hence the defeat to Doncaster - so again he should get games. Rob Edwards made his reputation as an U-21 coach - but Middlesborough will be wondering if he is going to repeat his first or last season with Luton. So might be a good place for him to be and as has already been said means that he develops as a HG player if he stays in England for 3 years,

People here criticise anything and everything (without having a clue).

There are reasons why he is being loaned to Boro. Presumably, Boro guarantee him playing time (unlike better teams) and play in a way that suits his game.

And there's no other team in the world that could guarantee him playing time in a way that suits his game?

Fuckin Middlesbrough?!!

Seem to recall sending Patrick Roberts there earlier in this decade, no?

Yep, that good he's being loaned out to a mid championship team who just got battered off a league 1 team in the cup.

I wonder how we sold the dream of 12 months in fucking Middlesbrough to 'Team Nypan'
How about 1st team football with a decent manager and young squad who will try to play football plus the surrounding areas of Middlesbrough can be quite decent

Looks like not only do we want him to slowly adapt to higher leagues but we also didn’t want him to make too much of a step up in terms of temperature. We are slowly moving him south, very shrewd.

There is no problem with this. Its just some people have way overestimated his current ability and decided he's much better than Boro with no evidence to back it. Admittedly we don't have an overwhelmingly positive recent history with finding good suitable loans for our rising stars but the plan was always to loan him out, if we've decided Boro is the best option I'll back the decision until it's proven otherwise.

If he plays three seasons in England would that make him homegrown? Might be why he's off to Boro

Hamilton
Harrison
Roberts
Steffen

Roberts and Steffen had a decent time there.

Hamilton the most recent had very limited experience prior to joining.

Nypan has more talent than all of them and more experience than all bar Steffen.

Boro has a new manager since the previous players were there so there is really no point comparing.

Just saw this argument and it actually makes sense.

Any 18 year old or younger its worth doing this, not just for our squad if they turn out to be decent but also for value.

Then its about game time and I assume Boro have given us guarantees.

Are Middlesbrough the only club that offer that?
Where would you prefer?

Championship is miles above the standard he’s used to in Norway,

Boro fans are ace, I lived there for a while and there’s many very nice areas in and around Teesside he can live in.

The training ground is in Hurwouth which is as posh as anything, also I’ve been there and the facilities are probably one of the best in the championship.
