While online abuse is abhorrent i really would think ederson would have more about him than to cowtow to a bunch of mindless idiots on the internet and with no disrespect if he thinks the abuse he will get in turkey will be any less vociferous he is wildly mistaken.
I think any club of a certain size has these 'social media fans' now. They're so wildly reactionary to the slightest hiccup and they flood your timeline. I even think they start to influence the perception of players to fans of other clubs. I've had previously level headed fans say things like "yeah but your own fans don't like X player" or "City fans are starting to get fed up with Pep". Like I say though its a modern problem that all clubs of a decent size have so I'd expect the younger players coming through are more adept at filtering it out for the online trolling it is

It’s what happens when you get success you are going to get this type of abuse if things go wrong it’s disgusting. But all successful clubs have it Madrid and Barca a big example of this. I don’t see how you do anything about it, players will just have to learn not to look at socials

Players are mad to even bother having social media to be honest.

its only similar to ignoring idiots on here in some respect, you dont know these people and they shouldnt impact you, its not a criticism eddie always seemed too mentally strong to let bullshit like that phase him.

99.9% are from “fans” in Africa and Asia not one would’ve set foot in Manchester never mind been to a match.

It’s seeping into non league. A boy who plays for my local non league team got a DM from a couple of people giving him dogs abuse for not saving a penalty. The kids 19. His mum put up a post it’s disgusting.

Really?
Online abuse - it’s not nice but it’s the price on the ticket at this level. But I assume they either 1) can’t read Turkish or 2) the Galatasaray fans are calm, reasonable and well mannered….
Hhhmmm... Wonder which one of those is most likely true ;-)

I’m uncomfortable with the impact on the playing style that not having Ederson will mean.

I was slightly uncomfortable, but excited, about the prospect of Trafford trying to get near to replicating Ederson’s impact on play and taking pressure off the team.

If it’s Donnarumma, I am really uncomfortable and don’t see how that works without drastically altering the successful formula.

Make no mistake, Ederson’s shot saving has been questionable at times (it’s also been very good at times) but he has been absolutely crucial to the way this team plays at all times, due to his freakish aviilty with his feet.

He is, by far, the best keeper in the history of football at this aspect of the game; head and shoulders above every other top keeper.

Replacing that is a huge challenge and doing it with a keeper who is being booted for not being able to do it elsewhere is a concern.
Do we need a keeper who's good with his feet when no team ever bothers to press anymore?

We've been found out by teams just sitting back, our tactics and playstyle must evolve as the successful formula isn't so successful anymore.

They don't press anymore as they know Edersons passing is his strengths.

They'll press again this season as Donnarumma's passing is his weakness.
