We will see how much faith he has in Nico when he names team and then subs tomorrow etc.
Khusa will be valuable part of the squad, I have no doubts on that one.

That’s true. Stones and Ake have had there issues but we’d be relying on Khusanov, Gvardiol, Dias, Ait-Nouri playing a lot of minutes. And the new RB if we were to sign one.I would like to think last year was an anomaly, even if Akanji went we’d still have 5 top centre halves in Dias, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol and Khusanov. Bearing in mind that now having Ait Nouri means Gvardiol doesn’t have to be left back.
Not many sides have that many central defenders.
This is what pep has always said. Small squad yes, players that can cover multiple positions at the very highest level make this possible.

Viana is quite literally being ruthless. Sporting accounts said he was when he rebuilt Sporting but didn't expect this.
You have to say that it’s the right way to be. This squad needed an overhaul after the treble - last year was a relative disaster - so action needs to be taken to rebuild and rejuvenate the squad - and that has to be a good thing. We need an injection of quality players with a greater level of hunger and Viana seems to be targeting the right sort of players. Time will tell but he seems to be playing a blinder.
