Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

We cannot sell Rico and not go for a RB. Surely we cant leave ourselves with no natural RB in our squad? No natural striker I get but not this...
Tbh rico isn’t a natural rb either. So whether he stays or not it doesn’t change that.

Nunes, akanji and stones will be used imo with maybe khusavnov too. That’s enough imo

Surely we cannot be selling a young home grown typical Pep player who he praises

How will selling a high me grown player affect the squad limits ? What about next year when we loose Ake Stones ?

Could it be a loan

What about Gibs white or Livramento ?

If you popped into Tesco and you got shit service and you complained and maybe left a bad review complaining that this person didn't do their job correctly and that staff member was reprimanded.

Some on here would say just complaining about a member of the staff would be abuse, it's a fucking weird take.

Me "I think Lewis has had a bad game".

Cuck "Why do you hate him?".

It's more akin to some youtube auditor **** going into Tesco with a preset position and waving their phone in the staff member's face and trying to "prove" their predetermined view; they just pop up with anything at all that "proves" their established view but are conspicuously absent when the evidence points the other way.

I despair at some of the comments on here regarding this lad. He’s done nothing wrong and doesn’t deserve it. He’s one of us and ingrained in the club. So please show him a bit of respect and give him some credit for what he’s done for us because he’s never let us down when called upon.
I would be truly gutted if he left.

Interesting to read we’d want a buy back again in this deal.

Selling Rico is a no brainer.

The academy is churning out some very good premier league players.

City need to upgrade the RB position now Walker is gone. Rico is not the solution.

Use the money wisely and get a proper player for that role.

The only reason Rico got so many minutes is down to his versatility.

The academy is doing a brilliant job funding the first team.

This current version of city can’t give Mcatee nor Rico time like Phil.

Palmer wanted out so different and we had Sterling/sane/Mahrez/bernie so timing wise sucked.

Need to stop the panicking over academy players. Only the truly exceptional will cement a place in the team.

A lot of that fits, Nuno likes a formation change or three per match. We’ve got the CB’s to play three at the back plus we’re trying to get away from low block /quick transitions and break teams down. Having just got Hutchinson for £35m plus IgorJesus, Anderson and MGW already here. RB is his best route into the first 11
FWIW, I said last year that he wouldn’t be here in 2 yrs and got slagged off mercilessly. I said the same about McAtee.

They are both players who can PLAY at the Premier League level, but neither of them has the attributes to STAR at this level…and City need players who can be stars.

They are both great Academy talents, who have made a difference in games, but simply cannot compete with City’s ability to bring in world class players from all over the world.

Excellent City squad players who, because they’ve done so very well at Junior levels, feel the need to push on and play every week at PL level. I can have no heartburn about that desire.

I don’t know a single (real) City fan who will not wish them both well and hope that they become great players for Forest (except in games against us, as old Blues invariably score against us!!).

All of that said, City have a habit of “giving away” players who have only 1 year left on their contracts, but I don’t think we need to with Rico, as he’s such a great utility player for us, he can fit in almost anywhere!

As I’ve said elsewhere, £30M+, plus £10M in reasonable add-ons and a sell-on clause should be a minimum ask in this market. Or, I’d take £40M straight.

Both this and the savinho polls are fucking stupid.

'The right price'. Fuck off. That's different to everyone. Of course you'd sell at the right price. Would sell Haaland at 'the right' price.

He's been at City 3 seasons.. maybe he feels he'll never be more than a backup here but wants more than that..

Or maybe he really got pissed off at getting hell for Kovacic's mistake.. can't blame him.. the abuse he got online was way over the top!

Wish you all the best Rico!

The players are under contract. If they don’t want to leave we can’t force them out. From their perspective it’s much more lucrative both financially and from a option point of view to run their contract down
If Gundo won’t go find a buyer and come to a compromise I.e pay up part of their contract using the transfers fee

Sorry I know many would sell him, but for me its a no don’t do it.

1. too many outgoings to replace will heavily weak our Chemistry.
2. we would need a replacement, market is dead on rb.
3. no I don’t want to see Akanji or Khusanov as the replacement to play there.
4. one of our own + homegrown who is fully integrated in our squad. No time for sentimentals but I‘m convinced he has high potential and if Pep believes in that too then there must be something.
5. take the joke, because its Rico…
