Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just seen the highlights....amazing, brilliant football. What a left foot finish by Reindeer for the 2nd, excellent build up by him and Lewis for the first, class class class for the third, i mean what awareness by The reindeer for the 3rd, Haaland didn't have to break stride, Sherki a lovely strike for the 4th...I didn't think it was a very hard shot and watching it back it didn't need to be because it was so well placed. If City can win the personal battles and stay on the front foot we will be fine....one game at a time...Johnny Stones looked very assured with his crosses and a very natural player...a really good game by the blues today. Well played Pep, Viana and all the City staff who have given us a fantastic new team with a new stand on the way. Cheers Sheik Mansour and Khaldoon you are leading the way yet again. CITY FANS WERE TOP DRAWER.

Edit...that reminded me a little bit of the Dzeko mauling of spurs away years ago.

Edit 2; by the way bbc match of the day Cherki cost about 32 million not 47 million.

A good start for us especially considering we have had such a disruptive pre season thanks to the club world cup. Once we got that first goal we seemed to really find our stride and could have added to our total.

All the new signings played well with Reijnders grabbing the headlines but it was also good to see Stones back and he made us realise how much we missed him, he was good in defence and in moving the ball forwards. Lewis played well, he seems to have grown a little over the summer, he looks older anyway and coped well with some of their shenanigans.

I must admit I wasn't quite sure about Bobb starting but he was very good, he linked up well with several players and showed glimpses of his tricky foot work.

I thought all 4 of our goals were very good for different reasons, team play, individual skill or a bit of both. love it when players shoot rather than take a touch. Early days but a very promising start from us.

Yes it was wolves. But it was away. And there were so many really good performances and the work ethic and the players who came on were fighting for a place and there was no Rodri or foden. Fuck me it was exciting.
Yes. For me the rebuilding and creating a new team is really exciting. It doesn’t really matter if we win a trophy or not. People should watch Pep in action to see how he does it. A football education in itself. I’ve no idea what the team will finish up as; there are so many possibilities. Blues should learn, mark and inwardly digest this season. I’m thrilled by it all. Whisper it: we might even win it.

Feet on the ground, but a good win away from home, Wolves will give other teams a game, home and away
they are an organised outfit and very strong and good on the break

City played really well and Reijnders was outstanding and that move and pass for Haaland 2nd goal was pure class

Anything you manage to get away from home is a win, win .... as the actress said to the bishop!

No complaints, but we still need to sort out the defence. Better teams will score against us, but hopefully once all our midfielders and midfielders are match-fit, and maybe get Donnarumma in, we look good so far. I said this last season too though
So you want a City team that doesn't concede for a season yeah...not hard to please you is it ha ha....(said tongue in cheek mate)

Respect to those Wolves fans still in there singing Jotas song after getting dicked 4 nil top support tbf
They reminded of us when we were shit, loud and proud no matter what the score. Loved it when every time they started singing “we know what you are, cheating bastards” then we scored the first, then sang it again, scored again, stopped singing after that, but apart from that, always loud, probably why Nunes didn’t start

That pre match thread (indeed, the match thread in the first half) was ridiculous. But par for the course on here, unfortunately. We mock the dips, Tarqs and rags for being entitled. There's a section of our fanbase (at least the online mob) who aren't much better if we're being honest. They want/expect/demand excellence for the whole 90 minutes. In every game. Sorry, but football doesn't work like that.
I think remembering themselves playing the game might help...especially after 3 months on the beer during summer.
