It’s took 12 months but I think he’s finally got itWorth noting that O’Reilly came on instead of Gundo and Khusanov came on instead of Akanji/Ake.
One thing I’ve noticed with Pep, he likes to make a point with his subs.

We were great from the opening play. We hustled well and had great support from the bleachers. This season it's looking like we're gonna cause plenty of excitement on offense... and on defence too, LOL.
Fully fit Stones best CB in worldGvardiol is a fine player and may well be our bedrock for seasons to come.
But when he's fully fit Stones is head and shoulders above any other defender we have.
Very sadly being fully fit has been on far to rate occasions recently.
We put several balls into space for Bobb but though he's wonderful with the ball at his feet he doesn't appear to have exceptional pace. He was beaten to the ball by the full back or the dead ball line each time. What frustrated me at the start was that the balls out wide to Bobb or Doku were to their feet instead of over the top. They have no chance to do anything positive then and need to recycle backwards or sideways.
Also any ball to Haaland was practically impossible for any Norwegian God to score from. He's not 10 feet tall.
Once we started putting the ball in front of players they had space to run onto it and it lead to multiple goals.
Passing to space I think is key for us to improve in attack.
I know what they mean but although it doesn’t always come off for Doku I think he frightens defenders witless and with a brave and fair referee, the full back should always be on a yellow by half timeNewcastle fans forum always provides fair comment on City. Today they're wowed by Rejinders, saying Bobb transforms City, and see Doku as the weakest link.
Bluemoon115's obviously a pragmatist ;)I don't want to get ahead of myself again, but I'm pretty sure we're doing 10 in a row :)
It’s always an absolute pleasure to put spurs to the sword.Really excited for the season ahead. Just feels like the team have had a big refresh with the new lads slotting in nicely. So many good performances today but Reijnders, wow, he makes it look so easy. Next game will be a bigger test of course, can't wait !
The number was just my house number, but 115 is very relevant now.Bluemoon115's obviously a pragmatist ;)
Him and Wayne R aren’t exactly the dynamic duo worth staying up for are they?!Shearer has no idea how to pronounce Reijnder’s name so just saying he and him!!! ;-) Give him credit for praising Reijnder’s though so I can let him off a little bit. ;-)
Thank goodness for subtitles to understand what Rooney is saying.
It’s going to be a long MOTD season.
Doku’s case wasn’t helped by some of the positioning his teammates took up, especially in the first half. He would lift his head and see two standing in a line, so that meant he only had one pass on instead of two; I guess that’s down to not playing often enough. Last year, he was able to feed Gvardiol for the goal at Wolves, but today we didn’t have anyone capable of such a shot. That said, overall he didn’t have a particularly effective game there last year either. It often feels as if he wants to get too close to his defender and use his brawn rather than his brain.Doku had a Reggie Blinker and Dias played like Stones 3rd leg
