82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

I wouldn’t sell, let’s see where we are in 12 months with him
I thought he was excellent and him swatting away that Wolves players finger when he was pointing at him shows he’s got a bit about him

If the offer is 50mil(which I can’t see) then it’s a different matter but on the face of it, it’s a defo keep

I love the lad. I’m chuffed for him
to start the season like that after all the unfair criticism he received

I think it's largely up to him (and Forest of course). If Forest have put an offer in, I would assume he is at least interested in the move.

I doubt we're pushing him out but if he wants to go and Forest match our valuation, then I imagine he will go.

Leave City and got to Forrest after starting the first game of the season seems like madness to me - Forrest(or an equivalent) will be there in 12 months. He shouldn’t rush into going there. He’ll get plenty of games for us this season. But if he doesn’t, go in 12 months. I don’t see what he gains by going now

If Lewis wants to leave, Pep will let him go.

He's had a good couple of games in a row against Palermo - 2nd tier Italian side - and Wolves - probably facing relegation - both very good.

That said, I doubt if we can safely start Lewis against a typical P/L side or most C/L fixtures - the competition in these sorts of games and the caliber of coaching and player is much higher. If Lewis starts - probably it's at RB - and good sides will target Lewis. He'll be forced to defend - and he's proven that he's not good at that. At all.

If we're really cheeky - and can get maximum value from a sale of Lewis - maybe we can sign Livramento... LOL. Not happening - but one can hope.

I think Liveremento is fantasy at this stage

If I was Lewis, I’d stay. Outside of Kusanov making that position his own I don’t see a stand out candidate. Nunes, I don’t rate him at all. Akanji, fine in big games when we need to defend but next to useless against teams when we are on the front foot(see Palace in the cup final)

All the options have pros and cons so in my view, he has a good chance of playing enough games to feel a part of the squad but if he’s not happy with that then door is there - but I’d be disappointed in him if he chose to leave at this point

Agree.

As for Lewis - I don't rate him at all - given a fair price - sell Lewis.

Lewis is shit on defense - can't read the game - and on offense... offers nothing special.

Now that Lewis has had a few excellent games in a row... perfect time to sell.

I'm hoping the noise is around new contract negotiations, madness if we let him go. Yesterday he looked quicker and a lot stronger, he's just 20 and the kid has great technical ability. Liverpool have bout a similar stature RB who's older and imo nowhere near Rico's level

Played well. The assist to Haaland was harder to provide than it looked. When running straight in one direction, it’s not easy to pull a ball along the ground at 90° of that precision.

He’s got very good progressive passes in the midfield area.

If he leaves I'll be absolutely gutted to watch him go. He's a quality player coming off the back of a terrible season both as a team and for him individually but I'd prefer him to prove the bluemoon gobshites wrong here rather than at another club because he most certainly will.

That run for his assist was textbook Rico and it was great seeing the chemistry between him, Bobb and Reijnders.

We still need a right back who can defend better and overlap just to give us options against different opposition. Walker would have been perfect if he was five years younger.

Not interested in your other criticisms which aren’t accurate, but can’t read the game, thats just bonkers his football intelligence is one of his biggest assets.

Some of us don’t need third season in a row with Rico experiment in the midfield. He starts the season and he ends on the bench. He has no attributes to play world class football in our team. He is not strong, not quick enough.

I am OK with him as a 20men squad member. In order to compete Barca, Madrid etc we need world class RB.

That would make sense if you were talking about a 28 year old, who should already have been at his best at around 25.

You're talking about a kid who was 18, 19 and now 20 in those seasons. And I'm also not sure you actually understand football tbh.

He was excellent yesterday, looked stronger and quicker. Really hope he stays, as he's a valuable squad member. Presumably he wouldn't have played yesterday if a move was imminent?

I understand his age. If you look it other way, if he stays and develops into decent player he will be in his prime in few years. You’ll have TAA case by then. He will be looking for new motivation somewhere else. Are we developing the players for other teams in our first team squad? I am referring to your age comment.

And I am asking: is he good enough to stop world class wingers?
No he isn’t. We need strong and quick RB asap.

Rico can be the cover or try other position but I find it nothing more than overthinking brain fart in the situation with, Tijjani, Nico, Nico, Gundo we have in midfield.
